I've been trying to think of a way to take some of the repetitive drudgery out of doing computer animation. The repetitive, time consuming part is in saving/naming the files created. Does anyone know any ways or software to quickly create about 100 to 500 blank jpgs of a certain size and give them all a single name with a number from 1 to whatever?
I dont know this helps. Im not very good with giving files names, I just do something like this :asdfghgfdsgfdsasdfg .. but what I did notice all my :ahgfdsasdfghgfdsaasdf files that transferred over to my other Pc were numbered perfectly 001-123 ect. I dont know how it did it...but windows7 did it for me. Now when I add a new one it will keep the original file name or itemize it to :124 and so on where the others left off..
Try this link I have not tried it but it says you can do it in Windows : http://www.mediacollege.com/computer/file/batch-rename/windows-xp.html Failing that there is a way to do it in photoshop using actions, and you can also resize them to by recording an action
I can't use any windows programs as I am a mac user, but I guess I'll find a solution somewhere. I do have gimp but I don't know anything about scripts. I have found ways to do a lot of things with automator though, so maybe I can figure something out.
