My weed got REALLY dry as a result of being left in a plastic bag for a while. Like, only good to be rolled in something. My friend told me to put a piece of orange peel in an airtight containter with it overnight, and it would supposedly get more moist. I did... and it worked! Don't know if it will stay good past a few days, but it's worth it to be able to pack it into a bowl without it crumbling up.

I love smoking freshley cured weed, It's much easier on the throat, and you get that great 'fresh' taste. mmmmmmmm.

Haha I did that once, and put way too much peel in there. It made the herb smell like hay.

make sure you don't put an organic orange peel in there...it'll rot. the stuff that keeps it fresh is the wax they coat oranges with to keep them from spoiling.

The mechanism is moisture transfer from the orange peel to the weed. If you are just rescuing one dry bag, it doesn't matter. If you regularly keep a peel in your stash as a constant humidifier, then the coating might matter. It also might transfer onto the bud.
Any vegetable peel will work. The thick peel of citrus makes it particularly good. A half potato is also used.
You can keep your pot moist, eat healty food and support your local farmers by using produce bought at your farmer's market.
