why has no one posted about these things?? this is the closest evidence that we have to there being a heaven/afterlife. people that die and have these experiences report that god told them no religion matters but the only religion that should matter is unconditional love for others and yourself. anyways i was wondering if anyone on this site has ever experienced one of these?

Near death experiences do not supply us with any credible evidence of god or an afterlife. People who pass out on a centrifuge often report seeing bright lights at the end of tunnels, seeing the centrifuge room from the ceiling, seeing dead relatives, and all of that, and these people weren't dead or dying.

If someone had an experience in the absence of any brain activity then this would be a different story, but as far as we know this has never happened.

I remember everything around me being blurry and in appeared to be in slow motion, but saw no white light, or angels.

I have never been a believer in that really. I also wonder why if mediums are able to speak to the dead, why they don't ask them whether there is a heaven?

The moment before is crystal clear, almost in slow motion like gypsy said. the minute or 2 immediately after are almost a complete blur however. No profound new outlook on life or anything like that unfortunately.

NDEs are just the result of DMT being released in your brain. Doesn't science just ruin everything? :p

The human mind is an amazing thing. If you deprive yourself of "meaningful" sensations as much as possible - blindfold, white noise, lying still on a sofa - after a while you'll start to see things.

No one has ever proven that these environmentally influenced DREAMS have occurred during bran death or zero brain activity because it is impossible to do so. Science has logically explained how these types of DREAMS manifest themselves.

And those mean-spirited businessmen, not to mention Fidel Castro go on living forever, taxing men of good will everywhere for their health care.

    Wooo...ooh!**

I have a very vivid memory of seeing dead rockstars when I was out due to appendicitis.
On the way to the hospital I saw Jerry Garcia and Janis Joplin, Jerry held out a guitar and told me to grab onto it.

Do I believe that they were real, and that they were trying to contact me?
Nah. Just brain chemicals, thats it.

Maybe you want to try and grab that guitar and see how real you can get with it.

    (... just an idea)

    Spirituality is a personal journey.

We venture out beyond our normal modes, in various ways, and experience things that make us sure of something. We try to take that experience back and relate it to those who stayed behind, and sound mad. There isn't much use in trying to convince them. Better to act on what you've seen. Better to let your actions serve as an example, as reinforcement for positive behavior in others. This is the way to create positive change; to respect the source of your visions.

There's an awesome BBC documentary on this called The Day I Died. It's on youtube, check it out. Sprry, but I don't believe this shit is all just brain chemicals. Watch the documentary and see what you think, it's very objective and it does show that there are things that occur during the NDE that go way beyond what the "it's just brain chemicals" idea can explain.

i was driving with my friends 2 christmas's ago. it was actually the night before christmas. and we were flying like 100 mph. it started snowing but we didnt notice because we were having a good time. we hit an icy spot and hit the brakes but were going downhill, so we flew off the road heading towards a cliff that goes into the river, but somehow, we hit a ditch, about 2 feet wide, in the middle of a field, that saved all 7 of our lives. we were going atleast 80 mph when we hit that ditch. if we didnt we all would have died no doubt. ever since that day i have prayed to god, i believe that was divine intervention and if anyone thinks otherwise that is okay, because god showed me that day that i am here for a reason.

Whatever it is, I kind of get weary of hearing people basically reporting the same thing...

Like tonight on Coast to Coast...some guy said he saw an 'angel'...and Goerge Norri asked 'How do you know it was an angel?'...

Or when people describe whatever divine being as basically being a reflection of their image...

This stuff is to predictable...like asking someone to draw a picture of what they think is beautiful...An Asian person will draw another Asian person...a African will draw another African, and a European will draw another European...(for the most part)....

Point being...people tend to report back from these NDE what you would expect them too...nothing bad, everything good, and friendly, no accountability or nothing...

Just like 'Alls forgiven, come here to the light of love'....

I personally would never trust such a scenerio...if people can decieve in this world, why couldn't beings be decietful in the next...

I mean how do we know beings aren't waiting on the other side who really want to kick our behinds??

What makes some people think that these 'beings' are automatically programmed to be 'good'? If we're deviant in nature, why wouldn't some of them be as well?

Most things, people, animals, insects, one encounters on this planet are out right hostile to us, unless it's family or close friends...could not spirits be the same way??

And even nature uses deception...to lure prey...

Why couldn't or wouldn't spirits do the same??

I know I couldn't just run into the arms of anything, unless it identified it'self and nature...I don't care how bright of a light it was...survival depends on it.

I think if anything is 'all good' and all 'lubby dubby' without any accountability...it has to be insane...

There always has to be accountability...love corrects, teaches...like a responsible parent...

Without that accountability, or correction...I wouldn't trust it...
