are a pain in the ass... sorry, just my random rant. Its going to be a long while for me to see some locking with my hair type. [IMG]
So heres what I am asking...
Show me your naturally formed locks (or hair in the process) and tell me how long you've been growing them and how long it took them to start forming. I'm going to be impressed if I see someone with natural locks formed within a years time!

Naural locks take about 2 years to form but then they usually are a lot etter knotted than the ones which are made.

then again my ones unraveled from the backcombing i did and just started to dread up again f their own accord. with a bit of willing from me into serperate dreads they were forming in 6 months.

yup my friend Logan, who cut his dreads off just 2 weeks after I did. already has half his head dreaded up naturally and forming tight and natty!!!!! me on the other hand only have 3 “little” dredy’s that are natural.. my hair will have to get a lot! Longer..

but remember mamma. its about letting go of your expectations of your appearance . regardless if you hair dread after 3 year or 4 weeks or never at all. just letting your hair run their own course. :) I’m probably going to have to wait just as long as you momma! i went through a hole period where i was frustrated cause my hair wasn’t even knotting at all and still isn’t!!!! and my friend has the most beautiful natural locks already... but remember patients in the key

This is for <<Earthy Mama>> who doesn't think that natural dreads are possible in less than a year. I've had these for over five years.

They tightened up within a year or so, but were fully formed in about ten months. I didn't divide my hair, backcomb, wax, twist, condition, or put anything disgusting in them like hair styling products...or food. I never put my hair in a stocking when going to bed and I only ripped them when they knotted together or were getting thicker than about three fingers thick.

I didn't use anything on them (like wax/conditioner) until long long after they were fully formed. Granted, I have curly hair, but it's true, you will go through an ugly stage while waiting for them to tighten up.

that's kinda hard to quantify. I guess that they were really fat/wide, and shrunk down to half that size but are hard as rock now. If you mean shrinking, like getting shorter, they didn't really.

If you are wondering, straight hair ive heard shortens by half, but curly shortens by 30 percent. I dunno. Thats just what I heard
