Some of us use only plain text editing programs and others use full featured IDEs (integrated development environment). Programmer's Notepad is quite good What do you use dues??
In Linux, Leafpad by Tarot Osuji has fulfilled all of my needs. Unless not pre-installed, check your distro's software repository to get your copy. In Windows, I enjoy the TopGun text editor: TopGun Text Editor Small, fast, compact, handles large files without dying. Pure assembly-written program, an absolute thing of beauty.
If you like a basic editor, this has become my goto editor, lots of nice features and you can hook into your fav compiler. Notepad++
