Hey all! So in North Carolina, there is this "neighbor" (I assure you it's not ME, no no no I swear LOL) who is OMG NAKED IN HIS OWN HOUSE, but the only problem is that he opens his front door so that all the neighbors can see him in all his "glory". http://www.cbsnews.com/news/naked-neighbor-charlotte-north-carolina-is-it-a-crime/ So what's your take on this? I realize that in some areas, one can be butt naked in their homes with the window shades down (I am guilty), and in this case, with the front door wide open. I would have a serious problem if this person were charged because he is in his own home. My reasoning is that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals was once dealing with a case where the government was trying to convince the court that in order for residents to be protected from warrantless searches and seizures of the home, windows have to be completely covered and doors have to be closed and locked tightly. The Ninth Circuit Court held that "[t]he Fourth Amendment does not protect only hermetically sealed residences." The court stated that "the argument that anyone who is visible from the street implicitly invites the Government to enter his home not only deeply offends common sense, but flies in the face of well-established law." The case I'm referring to was United States v. Oaxaca, 233 F.3d 1154, 1157 (9th Cir. 2000). So is this (in part) why it's difficult for the government to get a conviction out of a "guy" for being naked in their home with the doors wide open and the windows uncovered? Imagine a big court case where a guy (or gal) were completely naked in their home, and the cops swoop in and arrest him (or her) because they are NAKED NAKED NAKED in their home with the window "cracked". I've done it at night with the lights out, and no I wasn't a cop looking for a naked guy or gal, and I haven't seen any naked police officers, although I'd like to see a few, and I once had the Bush Baked Beans dog do an investigation on me and he testified in court... Ok just kiding, but I digress. :dizzy2:
Thats stupid. I agree this dude should keep the door closed, but it is his house and he is not outside. Maybe the neighborhood should try a new approach, like minding their own business. I know, weird.....
The idea that non-sexual nudity harms anyone is just old-fashioned. This is the 21st Century and kids are watching hardcore porn and there's no way to prevent it. We can't go back to an innocent time. So, leave him alone, he's not hurting anybody.
seems many people are into voyuersim and public displays these day, as well....exhibitionism...I jwould just turn my back and shrug my shoulders. whatever floats your boat does not bother me, as long as it does not hurt me....cannot hide much of it from children these days though...It is more out there everywhere....and children are not stupid...as much as anyone tries to protect them from things early on.
Oh boy...They better not come to my house. When it is warm, everyone is naked outside our house. In out community, every house is surrounded by some woods with a lot of acres. None of my family never wear clothes in our home. We don't worry about shades and stuff. Only family and friends come over. Our neighbors already know and saw us. A couple of times, sales men and a boy came over. They were surprised. The boy saw my daughter cleaning her dune buggy. A couple of times, men saw me in my garden. We don't try to hide ourselves in or around our home. People know what to expect when they come to our house.
Well... I'm totally nude in my house most of the time whether erect or flacid. My wife doesn't mind a bit, but she elects to keep her clothes on because she is more comfortable that way and doesn't like the risk of ever being seen. I don't blantantly parade in front of the front door/windows, but the window blinds are always open facing the backyard and I really don't care who sees me -- but they would have to make an effort. When it's dark outside, all the lights are on and the risk is very high of being seen. My whole family knows I'm a nudist and an exhbitionist and they just tolerate it.
I don't have that problem my neighbours are great and don't have a problem with our nudity . My living room and bedroom face the road with just a narrow patio and pavement between us and the road and both rooms have large bay windows so if were in there they have a great view and in the evenings the lights come on so the view is even clearer. No one has ever complained.
