Does the pill help acne issues? My mom looked at me today and said she was thinking about putting me on the pill so my acne wouldn't be so bad. I don't think it will work. Does anyone know anything about this? Heard any stories?
I actually heard that it wasn't true.I am not an expert tho...I am on the pill and while I don't have acne,I suddenly do have a few more pimples then I did before I was on it...my skin is pretty clean and I think the pill is actually giving me pimples... You should research it or ask a doctor!
I would belive so yes. My friend's doctor put her on the pill to help with her acne. It won't remove it completely, but it will help. But I don't have any first hand experiance on this.
I know orthotricyclen helps with acne, I'm not positive about other ones. It regulates hormones. Overactive hormones are part of what cause acne.
pills to help with ance and make you not gain weight or get depressed: Ortho Tri-cyclen Yasmin Necon Brevicon Modicon Ortho Evra
Diane 35 is specifically against acne. But it's a very heavy pill, with more likelihood of bothersome side-effects.
I was taking Estelle which is similar to Diane 35. It cleared up my skin fantastic. I then switched to the cheaper monofeme and i have the worst skin of my life. *sob*. You need the right one!
I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen. It did wonders for my skin. My skin is still oily, but I don't get a lot of pimples. Just one or two every now and again.
It depends, some women say it helps clear their skin, others say it flares them up. Some women claim it helps them to lose weight and get bigger boobs, others say exactly the opposite. Just depends how your body reacts.
When I was a teenager and before I originally went on the Pill, I had acne all over my arms and legs that were so ugly (and I don't know why I rarely got them on my face). I originally went on the pill at 21 years of age because I am not the nicest person to live with at that time of the month (and it was when I started attending an all-girls catholic high school in years 11 and 12 that I started to come to terms with this because most of my classmates could tell that I was at that time of the month and I can now openly admit that I am a biatch at that time of the month). I also considered going on the pill just after leaving high school and obtained a Social Security (now Centerlink) Health Care Card. Several friends of mine even reccomended me to go on it but it took me untill I was 21 to go through with it and this was when a friend of mine had only recently had her son - and we even went to see separate doctors. My parents are cool about me taking the pill (even though my mum is a nurse - she knows that I am not on it for the "one thing") as well and I also thought that some of my devout Catholic relatives would kill me for taking it as well but I explained my reasons for going on the Contraceptive Pill and they were cool with it. Although I have had very few side effects from the Oral Contraceptive (maybe the rare headache) it has really sorted out my acne in other areas problem but now looking back, I ahould have looked into the Pill earlier than I really should have.
