    I had never heard of this before now. I found an entry for the object, called "The Wedge of Auid", on RationalWiki and there is a more mundane theory as to the object's origin.

    My personal belief is that this world has already been through one cycle (or more) of civilization.
    And we probably found a way to destroy the world back then just as we are now.
