My favorite sweater in the world has finally worn through on one of the elbows. Can anyone tell me if it would be best to fix it with a patch or sew it up with some pretty thread? It's light wool if that matters.

Aww...two elbow patches would look really cute...maybe a tweed or check pattern? All professor-y...

you can take sweaters in to a tailor and get them repaired pretty inexpensivley it won't look perfect though but it works. If you don't mind spending the money you can take it somewhere that does re-weaving and thay will dye the thread to match and just reweave the area and it's invisible.

aww haha that would be cute.
me, i would say leave it...holes give character to clothing, so long as its not huge and half your arm falls out of it :)
i ripped my favorite favorite shirt that belonged to my mum in like 1965, and i bawled...in my drunken state....and then i got over it, cuz it looked cooler with a wee hole in it :)
