Ok. This is what I think would happen if everyone's favorite plant was legalized. Scenario 1: Weed becomes similar to cigarettes. Taxed to hell and gone. The THC is lowered, so you'd have to smoke a pack of joints/cigarettes to get high. Jobs are lost such as police, border patrol, etc. Scenario 2: Multinational Corporations run the growing. 5 year olds are forced to harvest it and carry it to the factory where it is sent off to America. But I'm a conspiracy theorist and I smoke too much weed for anyone's good.
i don't know about having to smoke a whole "pack" of joints to get high, but the THC quantity in commercially produced weed would be lower than home grown. because they'd logically use machines to harvest it, which thrashes the bud and knocks a lot of trichromes off of it.
Wrong, if it was legalized, you, me and everyone with 2 cents of knowledge will be growing it in their back yard tax free.
not to mention most people dont smoke good pot on a regular basis as it is. however, quality weed will NEVER leave the scene, and even if the majority of the industry were taken over by what we could call the "budweisers" of the marijuana world, lousy weed but it will get you stoned, we'd still have the equivalent of craft brews, small independent growers that treat the plant right and cure it to perfection, with a wide variety of different types available. it would obviously be more expensive, but thats the way it is anyway right now. look at places where cannabis is tolerated/legal: is good pot in any shortage?
