The hardest part is deciding how much to ask. You could just auction it on Ebay with no minimum, but that could end up very low and not give you an idea of it's true worth. Look on line at other works that are similar and get an idea of what they charge. That should give you a starting point.

Fix the white along the edges and the right corner of the yellow room and sell it for no less than $200, in my opinion.

haha thx man. hows the painting going for you?
and the painting is oil, with multiple glazes.

    :D

no less than 200$?? wow, thanks i guess.
if i were to put it on ebay or something i'd start it at 20$, it'd pay for some more tubes of paint and such which is all i really care about. i would be thrilled and flattered if it went past 50$
and i completely agree that i need to do some touch-ups.
    :thanks:

Make prints, sell them at a decent lower price to get your name out.

Give originals as gifts, or sell them when your prints begin moving.

well I find the fact that you're so humble endearing. $50, cute. It's nice to know you're not pretentious in the least. Your art work is beautiful.

I've seen lesser work by local artists in my town sell for more than $200.

I think on Ebay, you can't really expect more than $40 until you get your name out there.

If your town has a good network for local artists, try to get it displayed in a local gallery and ask no less than $150. Selling locally is your best bet. That automatically gives you a reference point to potential buyers, whereas if you sell it on the internet you're selling it as a little-known and basically anonymous artist.

I wouldn't buy it. Just my taste. I would look at it, and think, "Oh, cool." BUT my point here is you can sell anything for any price. How much is it worth to you? The question is how much do you value your own work? Sell it for what you want to sell it for. But anything is sellable.

also i can't see my self buying any single work of art for more than $50
then again if i want to sell art, perhaps i should say i would buy art for $1000 because that says i value art and thus i will get more buyers at higher prices ...... ;)

my advice is to not cut an ear off, or throw yourself under a bus... yet. yes, i think it's good - but, case in point, its awfully hard to sell art.

    you're a talent, dude.
