Im planning on ordering the hydrohut from hydroasis.com and a thousand watt metal halide for the growth stage and a hps for the flowering. should i buy a carbon filter or a ozone generater? what elso should i buy? Im planning on just doing soil instead of hydro. How does this sound?

A carbon filter would be recommended if ya plan on 6 or more plants, and for doing soil, right on.The final product via soil organics out tastes hydro every time.Hydro for yield and soil for taste. You should consider 600 mh's/hps as more lumens per watt with alot less heat.Have you addressed the climate control, some thought should be give to a exhaust of heat and intake of fresh, heat kills.Good luck

Enough cannot be said of the benefits of extra $ for air cooled hoods. You can get a carbon filter and pull odor/heat kiillin 2 birds with one stone and simply supply a fresh air intake with a couple oscillating fans keeping air moving which is a necessity. Will require 2 centrifigal fans of same cfm, what would be required of the the carbon filter would dictate sizes needed.Elicent fans IMO are best for the money and get 6" flanges on the aircooled hood for better flow and 2 elicent 309's will do the job quite efficiently.Dont get the hoods with offset flanges as air flow is drastically reduced.Sunsystems 2 econocools are my choice as entirely made of 95% reflective german pebbled aluminum ,why, all aluminum with no outer steel cover to retain unwanted heat, aluminum disapates heat faster then steel, and very affordable at $125 -150.Elicents can be as low as $175 a pop.Happy contemplating.

an easy & cheap way to get better air flow is to hang a a 9-12" desk top fan at the same height as your light this will dissipate the heat and also provide just the right amount of movement for your plants just make sure there is an exit for any hot air by making ventilation holes in your grow area(will also allow fresh air in)

I know ya mean well but ya have no clue.A 1000 watt MH will get a rooms temps well over a 110 degrees.Know what your talking about before you put your foot in your mouth again.
