So ive been around for a few years and just recently got off a few festival circuits and further tours. Most people who join that lifestyle usually dont end up going back to college but i did. Only to find that after months of endless tripping ive found myself in a predicament. My mental capacity has not improved of that when i trip. Its been months and i still feel as high as a kite. Not to mention ive always kept my grades up in the past i can barely function. my short term memory is shot, my energy is scattered, and the symptoms go on.

The most ive consumed was when i took a sip out of container that was filled with numerous concentrate and raw washes (for you noobs that means lsd in its purest form which is raw crystal) that was 5 months ago and to be honest im still watching the wall in front of me breath.

My friends tell me that it will pass over in a few years and to not eat any more L for awhile, which im okay with due to the fact that if i smoke a bowl i know im gonna be watching double helix's grow out of the ground. SO PLEASE! Tell me what to expect fellow trippers. wtf. lol

Your mental capacity hasn't improved in the world of logic and reason.

It fades a little, but not much. Not to worry. you'll get used to it and learn to function efficiently in different ways.

I've been doing LSD for about 45 years. A lot during the 60's and 70's. Not as much in the last ten years, I've switched to mainly peyote lately. And I only trip about 4 times a year, mostly in a sweat lodge as a spiritual re-awakening.

Your brain has NOT been 'damaged'. New pathways have opened up and you're feeling a bit disoriented. The learning process has begun. You need to approach your new found perceptions with a positive attitude. Think of it this way... your brain is a maze of tall hedges. The LSD has cut down some of the walls between the pathways, and re-routed others. Your thought processes, used to the old pathways, must now be re-directed and adapted to the new, more open pathways. You basically have to get to know the new "map" of your brain.

When I was in high school before I ever tried LSD they gave me an IQ test. I scored 148. I was alwyas sort of suspicious of this test so over the years I retested several times.

The first time I retested I scored 142. This was shortly after I began using LSD on a regular basis. Naturally I thought my brain had been somehow dameged by the LSD. This turned out to be not true. After several years of getting used to my new "map", I retested at 148 again. I had grown accustomed to the new pathways.

Funny thing is, I retested about ten years ago and scored 154. According to the 'experts', your IQ is supposed to remain about the same throughout your life, in some cases diminish slightly... but it's not supposed to improve. It's very possible the LSD had something to do with my IQ going up. Of course, the whole concept of the IQ test may not be an actual measure of intelligence, but I do believe it measures brain function at some level.

I will tell you that I feel as though my mind gets sharper and clearer as the years go by. I can access stored information more quickly, and process new information more easily. The only problem I have is my long term memories get mixed up, in other words I remember them fine, just not always in the order in which they happened. I think this has more to do with the non-linear nature of time than it does my memory.

In any case, don't worry. You may have a bit of confusion for awhile, and you'll ge used to the walls breathing and the trails. You won't need to smoke as much weed to achieve the same level of high, which saves you money on pot. But the sooner you realize this is a good thing, the sooner you can get to work on remapping your neural pathways and learn to use your brain efficiently again.

You may, however, find yourself losing interest in certain subjects that you thought were important before, and now realize they are mundane. And you may find other things more interesting that you previously thought were irrelevant. This is natural. You're just growing and learning to "fine tune" your life. Congratulations on your new expanded mind and above all, have fun with it. Be creative!

    Peace

    ^He said it best mate.

You are slowly coming back to baseline. Think of all the time you have spent out on tour. You cant expect to be back in a day. :)

Wow, it's been just over 12 years since I've been concerned with residual effects; I am 27 and started early in high school with psilocybin and lsd. Walls stopped breathing many years ago. I no longer smoke pot (although I will eat hash a few times a year) but a single hit and I'm confronted with a solipsistic visual representation of the dillema creation faced when deciding whether or not 'to be'. I've only taken DMT in the past two years so it's been awhile since I've sacrificed the time to anything that eats away several hours, but I've eaten enough acid to fill a jug by now and am fine. Well, actually, it may have turned me gay, but the tendencies were there since the beginning ;)

Some of the native American tribes use peyote, not as a drug, but as a medicine. They say it cleanses the soul.

It's not the worst idea to perhaps look into that, in many cases it has cured addiction to alcohol and bad behavior. Perhaps you will take back some sort of relief from this.

Weed is probably a bad idea right now, it will escalate the effects, but just always keep in the back of your mind that you will come down. And your brain will be fine
