My girlfriend seems uncomfortable with me seeing her naked, among other things.

Lately, whenever my girlfriend and I end up in a situation in which we normally would end up having sex, she does not seem interested in pursuing having sex and we do not have sex, not even oral sex. However, she has on a couple occasions recently randomly given me a handjob without much warning, although she would not let me reciprocate. Additionally, she now seems to be uncomfortable with me seeing her naked. For example, we often shower together, we have showered together many times, but lately she does not seem very comfortable with us taking a shower together. The last time she needed to take a shower and I was around and I also needed to take shower, she asked me to leave the room because she said it made her feel uncomfortable having me in the bathroom with her. I asked her why right after she said that, but she wouldn't tell me why. I am not sure what caused the change. Hopefully it is nothing I should worry about, but I am a little concerned. Should I be concerned? And what should I do.

She has put on a little weight, but not much, only a couple pounds. She knows that I find larger woman attractive, though. Early on in our relationship she told me that she felt self-conscious about her body, especially around her boyfriends, and I told her that she didn't need to worry because I find her very attractive and I find her body type, which is on the heavier side, very attractive. All of which is true: I do find her very attractive.

Sounds to me like she needs to be opening up about it, unfortunately there is never much you can do but be patient and loving until she does. There may be something else going on, or it could just be her old habit of being self-conscious has kicked in around you.

Maybe try getting into a situation where sex is about to happen and you can be in a place to turn the lights out? might help her not be so self conscious.

No offence, but is she turning / acting frigid? Or that time of the month again?

She had her period about two weeks ago, so it is not that. And I don't think "frigid" would be the right word for it. I can tell when she gets really turned on, and that turns me on, and normally when that would happen, when I would know that she was horny and she would know that I was horny, we would end up having sex; that is, providing we're in a private place. If it happened during a non-private place, we would just look at each other and smile and say, "Later." Lately, however, when those times happen--and they happen a lot, believe me--it does not lead to sex, not even oral sex. We went from having sex almost every day, normally multiple times during the day, to not having sex at all.

small changes in sex frequency happen in all relationships.. stopping it all together shows a problem. again figure out a way to help her open up, something is on her mind that she seems to not be communicating, and therefore it is affecting her actions.

So who usually initiates sex first - you or her?
Does she ever start fondling you without you mentioning sex or do you always have to start things off first like I've always 95% of the time had to?

Maybe it is the weight issue, if I were you I would continue being a caring and loving boyfriend. Compliment her, GENUINELY and not when you're horny. If things don't go back to normal in a couple of weeks, its time for a chat.

I probably initiate it about two out of three times. So she does make the first move a lot of the time.

I do genuinely compliment her every day, and not just when I am horny. :p

Yeah, I lean towards that I probably should have a talk with her, just to find out what is going on, what is wrong, what changed. If I had to guess, I would guess that it is the weight issue, but I don't know if that is it.

Hmm well maybe your compliments don't mean anything to her if you say them every day! My boyfriend and I have been together for a while and he doesn't compliment me every day ~ so when he does it's extra sweet and makes me feel nice inside. Just some experience :)

I could try doing it a little less. However, I love complimenting her and she actually has commented about the fact that I frequently compliment her, and she said she really liked it. :/

I think you should just ask her.

Like "Hey I don't know what's going on exactly but I've noticed you seem to feel insecure about being in your birthday suit around me, is it something I'm doing to make you feel insecure? Can we work on this?"

Maybe she's got a health problem she's affraid to talk about?
Some of us do that & bottle it up & feel worse because we just depressed & don't like to tell others who are feeling very well & they may feel worse if told?

I was thinking weight gain as well. But given what you have said, I don't know about that. Have you done anything recently that hurt her feelings?

I'm sure if that's true she keeps them in the closet with the rest of the toys. :)
