won't come off. what the hell?

and no cracks about how women can't change tires. my boyfriend and my friend stephen wrestled with the son of a bitch for half an hour. this is really shitty. i need a sledgehammer.

 

Did you get the lugnuts off but the wheel is stuck on the hub? Or can you not break the nuts loose?

 

the nuts came off fine, the wheel is just stuck and will NOT budge, it is ridiculous.

 

Changing tyres is a man's job.

 

maybe in your backward third-world country. i didn't even know you HAD cars there.

 

If you have a dead blow hammer, or even regular hammer, hit the tire on the inside and the wheel will fall off. Hit the actual rubber tire though and not the wheel.

Or if the car is *securely* supported (jack stands) you can lay on your side and kick it off.

Sometimes a little corrosion builds up on the hub. The metals react, the hub is steel and wheels are usually alloy. Too bad I dont live around there, I could get that sucka off no problem

i'm sorry... that sucks. does the tire just not hold air? mine had a nail in it, and we put enough air in it to get us to the tire place, and had them fix it with a plug. don't know if yours is anything like that...

deviate, thank you... i tried a regular hammer to no avail. i think i need a bigger one... i suppose i will try again tomorrow. i really don't want to have to ride the bus downtown alone tomorrow night... my class ends at 10 and creepers *love* me.

i don't know yet, i don't have any air, i thought i would easily come off and i could just put the donut on... this is unexpected and will have to be dealt with at a time other than 230 am....

 

I have worked with a couple female techs, but they are few and far between.
Ive also known quite a few that were into building and racing their cars.

Any guy who says fixing a car is a mans job probably cant even work on one themselves

good luck with your tire. i had to put air in my tire almost every day until we took it to get fixed.

 

yeah, i worked on fixing up an old corvette for a while, and i fixed up my bike yesterday, i'm so butch....

 

No worries, and really you can try kicking the tire. Even from the front will work. Just kick it on one side and it will pop off the hub, trust me. You might have to kick it hard though.

And you should spray those fuckers with some mace

i took a shop class in high school, but we never really worked on cars, just lawn mowers
and to this day i have never even mowed a lawn because i am a girl
