so i have been wanting to see this incredible musician Xavier Rudd for some time now, and as luck would have it, he came to new york tonight. nevermind that i mistakenly went to see him a week ago, travelling hours only to find i was there a full week early so i get there, and im all excited. the venue is tiny. bowry ballroom, very cool, small place, tiny stage. maybe 5 minutes before xavier came on, i asked my sister for a sip of her beer (im only 20). i was spotted, and promply thrown out, and told never to come back. i turn 21 in a month. a fuckung month. im old enough to be drafted and die for my country, old enough to drive, to vote, but i cant have a single sip of beer. so out i went into the pouring rain in NYC, drenched and peeved, in a very bad area. my friends were still inside, and their pleading with security almost got them booted too. i planned to disguise myself and re-enter. i went to a late night general store, bought a razer, and shaved my face completely, cutting myself in the process. i turned my shirt inside out, then tore a hole in it (its my favorite shirt). i dont know what the purpose of this was, but i was just trying to look as different as possible, to fool the bouncer. i got as wet as i could, which wasnt hard in the rain. i went back, tried to get in, and was turned away now what the FUCK
Man, I'm going to see Xavier tomorrow night with Yonder and Gov't Mule. I'll smoke a couple joints for ya, man.
Damn man, that sucks. Xavier Rudd is awesome. But how did they know you were underage, and come to Australia, you only have to be 18 to drink
Not only that, but what you did isn't actually illegal. It's illegal to SELL alcohol to underage drinkers, not to drink underage per se.
Man, that story's harsh. Nice try getting back in; I wouldn't have thought of that. A similar thing happened to me once... I went to the payphone across the street, called 911 and said there's a guy with a gun inside. Muahaha if I can't have fun, NOBODY HAS FUN. :X
3 months ago i got detained in an aiport and nearly arrested for underaged drinking on the plain i hate our fucking laws they knew i was underaged cus i wasnt wearing a bracelet il get over it, it just might take some time
yeah, if where he lives in anywhere like here, when you walk into a concert before it begins you have to show them your ID to purchase a bracelet [like the ones they give you at waterparks and such] and then you get booze and they know you're 21 and don't card you everytime you go up to the bar. It's lame.
