This is my first serious sketch. If I ever become a professional, this will be my first piece. I drew this out of pure boredom because I wanted to see if I was any good at sketching. He he, well, I guess I am. The dark areas are shadows. Believe me when I say some people thought it was hair and I am not kidding. This is Gillian Anderson, (Scully from the X-Files), and she is standing in front of some sort of exercise machine. The light is hitting her from the side causing the shadows (Some people didn't realize that either). This was done with a single, ordinary pencil and a pop-on eraser. It took me about 6 hours to draw. Obviously, I drew it while looking at my computer screen, as I would not have access to her in real life.
Keep sketching! Your values (lights/darks) are amazing for a first time. Most people are afraid of really dark darks when they first start out, and that really makes your whole piece pop....great work!
awsome.. great lighting and style. keep it up.. this is my first proper try at a human figure in Photoshop.
Hey that's not bad...................for your first time it's real good. Once to keep trying over and over your art will get better and better!......... Not the same gal but a different gal.Good luck!

Keep up the good work, I can see an improvement from your first sketch. Figures take time and practice.
