Holy crap! I've never been so mind blown after waking up in my life. It was cray.

First off, I'd like to thank Black Lotus for some of his tips on Lucid Dreaming, especially the symbol on the hand, I kept looking at it everyday when things got weird when or at regular intervals when I was awake, and I can't tell you how many times I looked back at it in my dream.

    So here goes:

It's starts off I'm just remembering my shift at work from that night. Everything seems normal, except the customers all started to look the same, then the part that made me look at my hand the first time was my fellow cashier started flirting with me, and being obnoxiously sexual behind the counter, granted she's an attractive girl, I'm extremely dedicated to my relationship  (a story for another forum), and when my co-worker tries to lock us in the supply closet in the back I look down at my hand and the "A" symbol (I used it to stand for Awake) morphed and twisted almost as if looking at the letter "A" while on LSD.

Almost instantaneously, as if I had been doing this for years, I create a huge white flash, kind of like an explosion from Dragon Ball Z, and for a few minutes I'm levitating in pure white light. This started to scare me a little, I don't know why, but the light seemed so overpowering.

To leave this setting, I ask for help, and I am brought to a beach, resembling one in the Bahama's that I visited on a cruise once. It is empty, except when my "help" arrives.

I eye the figure from bottom up and he's in white shoes, a white suit, and my heart almost stops as I see his face, its me except instead of grey eyes, he has really beautiful blue eyes, and instead of dirty blonde hair, its a luminescent golden blonde.

Now, I'm going to sidetrack a little. While preparing to Lucid dream, I made a list of things I wanted to get done, the most important being where I should/want to go with my life, and what I want dedicate my life to becoming in college. I ask these because I'm now fighting off suicidal tendencies because about a week ago, I was actually WANTING a drug addiction. A thought that is finally starting to seem further from me. (One Week not touching any psychoactives! Except caffeine)

Now back on track, this glowing figure of me says, "Relax. There's plenty of time for you to search here, I have faith you'll be back. And it would be far too easy if I just told you what to do. Now, go explore! Be creative!"

Then my glowing counterpart turns into sand and falls to the beach. At this point, I remember (although flying around the beach:sunny:) being lost at what to do next, not wanting to waste my time here, the pressure got to me, and I could tell I was falling out of lucidity, so I look at my hand, and that works for a little while, but I remember reading something on wiki-how for Lucid dreaming, that if you fall backwards, without catching yourself, it extends REM sleep, and lengthens lucidity.

So I fall backwards, and things got extreme from there. I fell through the sand and an extremely frightening sense of death came by me as I'm falling through a world of darkness. Remembering that I'm dreaming I stop myself from falling and levitate.

I wasn't surprised at what this dark world looked like. I had been watching some classic Yu-Gi-Oh! lately and been playing the video games when I can't sleep. It looked like the shadow realm.

Immediately, I thought this would be a blast, I could duel someone! But now I had to create an opponent. This is where things got a bit scary for me :(. From the darkness a mirror approached & despite the fact that I thought I could get rid of it I couldn't.

Side note: I was scared shitless because I remember Black Lotus posted somewhere here that looking in mirror while dreaming is suposed to be some of the scariest shit ever.

Feeling powerless, I look at my hand hoping to gain some sense of control, the "A" morphs as usual, but I can't help but look into the mirror.....

It was me alright, sickly thin, angry eyes a dull grey, that were extremely red. Pale as a ghost in the same outfit as me except faded, dirty, and torn.

The mirror then exploded, but he remained staring at me so intensely that I felt like puking. Well, I got my opponent I thought, and with that thought we were spaced apart a bit, turned into anime versions of ourselves, and duel disks appeared on our arms.

Now, due to the fact that probably not too many of you watch Yu-Gi-Oh!I won't go into duel details, but he went first and it seemed that I had every card he had, but I was helpless due to the fact that he went first. One turn away from being able to summon the same monster, he summons an extremely powerful dragon roaring down at me. I scream for help! And again another white light explosion.

After the light fades, I'm no longer animated, and again at that same beach with the glowing figure of me. I'm at his knees panting, sweating, and shaking. He's above me smiling and says "See you control what happens, he's gone now. You can always bring him back, but do you really want to?"

Then from the ocean I hear loud noises, thinking it is a boat, but it ends up being my alarm clock waking me up from my room. And here I am now typing to you all the story of my first lucid dream.

Can't wait for any responses to this! And again thank you Black Lotus for the advice! :)

Seems you had a pretty fun lucid dream. I enjoy my lucid dreams all the time but mine consist of me sitting in hills of japan or on top of a mountain relaxing. Mine are pretty much just more of a meditation during lucid dreaming.

Hey since you did lucid dreaming perhaps try some astral projection where you are in control of your body and mind during it but the world is not up to your creation

Incredible story, sounds like a really intense dream! It really painted a picture in my head. I appreciate all the shout outs!

Funny you said that looking at your hand was like seeing the letter on LSD.. that's exactly what happened to me.. However the symbol was different. There is some sort of connection to this state of mind that I can't quite put a finger on, I've seen it many times.. More than just the symbol, or a visual effect...

Anyways, great story! I hope it makes you feel excited, it made me really get sucked into this dream world ever since after finding how much could be done. I think you may find that you are able to reach lucidity now without even looking at the symbol, I haven't read much about lucid dreaming after you've accomplished your first lucid dream, but I have found myself able to do it without even using the hand, though the hand symbol was much easier.. Don't be too upset if you don't go lucid for awhile though, because it took me about a week or two after my first one before I ever broke lucid again.

I'm starting to look into astral projection myself as psychedelic_buddha commented, I don't know much, but it sounds like an incredible powerful experience. I believe it is like an out of body experience through "meditation" but don't take my word on that haha. It's more like a lucid dream while awake if I understand correctly.

Enjoy the dream world, it is the only thing keeping me sober in between trips haha! It's also opened my memory and helped my creativity. It's like a locked treasure in your mind of knowledge, much like an LSD experience, but sometimes even more fun in the sense that the world can be entirely your own. Have fun!

Astral Projection sounds a bit intimidating, as with tripping setting is key. Maybe after a few more experiences with lucidity I'll look into it. That sounds like an epic journey though more so than a dream :sultan:.

And thanks for the responses. God I have this afterglow today, like after the first few times I rolled.

I could definitely see this helping sobriety. I feel like therapists should include this more with drug addicts.

Astral projection can be intimidating in a way. It is a very strange feeling knowing your are not dreaming. Most people who astral project are doing it during the early morning right after they wake up. I tend to astral project myself in mid day so reset my emotions and connect with people. Astral projection is quite the adventure and i have actually met up with friends in the astral plane and after it we both called each other.
