I've done salvia various ways - both quidding leaf and smoking extracts. I've found that if done right, the salvia experience does not need to be a scary one at all. It can be one of the most gentle and beautiful experiences you will ever have. The problem most people have is that they are trying to get that total experience too fast. Salvia is a harsh teacher and you need to be patient. Here is what I have found to be the absolute best method to get you in deep but in a very gentle non-scary way: Start with quidding. Soak a decent amount of plain leaf in water for about 5-10 minutes. Then ball it up and put it in your cheek. It should be a size that is big but manageable in your mouth. Chew it very slowly and deliberately. Like one chew every 30 seconds or so. You are not trying to macerate it - you just want to get the juices out so they fill up the side of your mouth. Every 2 minutes, use your tongue to move the quid to the other side of your mouth. You can also place it under your tongue. The idea is to hold as much juice as you can in your mouth. You can swallow or spit into a dish if you need to, but try to hold it in your mouth as much as possible. Do this for 30-45 minutes. I think 45 minutes works best. Then throw out the quid and lie down in a dark room with some kind of ambient/meditative music - or even just something repetitive like the sound of waves. Don't TRY to go anywhere, just accept whatever comes. Keep your eyes closed but look at what you are seeing. At this stage I usually experience a gently opening up of my head. It is slow and gradual but steady. At the peak of it for me, there becomes this sense that I am totally lucid, and aware of where I am - but that the entire universe is flowing through me and out in all directions. It is absolutely beautiful and I would be happy to just be there forever. But, I usually decide to go a little deeper anyway... Next step (about 15 minutes after you spit out the quid) is to smoke some plain leaf. Use proper technique of course to get the most out of the leaf. Generally this increases the sense of the universe flow for me. I'll generally smoke 3-4 hits of plain leaf. Then, when you notice that the smoked hits are wearing off, jump it up a notch and smoke some extract. At this stage I do 1-2 hits of 6.5x. That is generally when the full salvia experience takes hold and where I end up is different each time. It brings me to very intense places, but it is never overwhelming in a scary way. Usually 6.5x is all I need, but I do keep stronger extracts on hand in case they are needed. The important thing is to go baby step by baby step. The quidding sets the stage, the smoked plain leaf opens you up in a gentle way, and then you start increasing the extract strengths until you get somewhere. I love this method and it has honestly never let me down. I know a lot of people can't get any effect from quidding, but if you use it as an aid towards your extract smoking it makes the whole thing last longer and go deeper in a way that is much gentler on the psyche.
i know i text my brother and was like 'where's my salvia, the whole plant's gone' and he goes 'who takes a plant' it was growing right in front of my home
i told my mom a plant was missing and she goes 'a bunny probably ate it' that bunny must have been fucked...
yeah i dont have leaves i just have the extract stuff im still staring at it thinking about how im goin to about doing this ive smoked it b4 n had a pretty good experience for about 5 min. the reason im posting this up is because i was wondering if trying to make somekind of tea is a good idea or is it going to completely going to ruin the salvia. or is there anything that i shouldnt mix with salvia
Don't bother making a tea. Salvia is basically inactive when ingested. With an extract your only option is smoking.
