My mother basically established the fact I was a lifelong Democrat, like her. She told the "differences" between the parties c. age 6. I have always leaned towards anything involving consenting adults I think, especially when I became an adult. I have personally supported the idea of same-sex marriages for about 30 years now. But the issue has always been seen as controversial. Now it's no big deal.
I grew up on the conservative side of the state. Same sex marriages were unheard of back in the mid 80’s. “Gay Bashing”, be it verbal or physical were common occurrences. I never understood it. My young brain looked at it differently. “If guys get with other guys, that left more women for me”. 39 years, and plenty of Bi encounters later, I’m glad I never bought into the hatred. But I do loathe that the hatred still exists in my area. But I do live in one of the reddest counties in Michigan. I take pride in being a blue pimple on their asses though.
I never heard of same gender marriage until in the united states. In mexico, gay or same sex relationships is still kept hush hush. In america everything is open.
It is kinda amazing that consenting adults could be censored in any way, you want to get married , get married who cares
I grew up believing that being gay is a sin and even expressed my views here a few years ago. Now I fully accept myself being gay.
