.... I recently enrolled in College to become a Music / Guitar Teacher, to teach , 1960's / 1970's Classic Rock, Neo Classical Metal, Speed Metal , Thrash and Blues , at the Collegiate level . Currently, I am taking Advanced Music Theory, Classical and Flamenco Guitar . There seems to be some Intellectual Bigotry when it comes to Rock Music on the Collegiate Level . I intend to break barriers to have Rock / Metal generes of music, so it could be taught alongside Jazz, Classical and other forms of music .
Some of the most successful metal musicians come from a classical background. Some of my favorite rock/ metal guitarist started as classical pianists. Check out Kanami Tono of Band-Maid
I took music theory at a community college. It helped me then and now, no intellectual bigotry in community college. Everyone was told first day we would all get As in the class. That year I took yoga and guitar classes too. I had way more fun classes in CC than at University or Graduate school. And what I learned in CC I find more useful today than the academic b.s.
