my boyfriend bought me a breadmaker..

so i'm going to go and make some bread for the first time with it. making bread by hand is a pain in the ass.. but i love the results.. this shall be much better!


who's comin' over for fresh bread in about .. uumm 4 and a half hours?

breadmaker bread is not as good as bread by hand. IMO. but we have a breadmaker too.

yes.. handmade bread is best.. but i'm too lazy to make bread all the time.. with this thing i can make it every other day if i like.

it is nice to have a good warm loaf ready for you when you get home from work. jrnyman used to make me bread in the breadmaker all the time for my lunch sandwiches and for making french toast, and all kinds of other stuff. it was nice. we have no room for it right now though. we need a new place to live!!!!

 

I like breadmaker bread. It is usually soggier and heavier than normal bread. We have a great creole bread mix at home that makes delicious spicy bread...its divine.

I posted some pics a few weeks back of the breads I was making in my bread machine. The machine bread is pretty good. Some machines have an extra knead/rise cycle option that makes the bread lighter.

The machines don't make bread quite as light as hand-made because they use a deep cube pan instead of a longer shallower rectangular pan which allows the bread to rise more readily.

If my boyfriend ever buys me a breadmaker I'll throw it at his face.

What if he bought you a dishwasher?

 

Thats different. A dishwasher is a necessity. Besides, its something we BOTH will be using.

Its okay if he buys a dishwasher...as long as he doesnt say its a gift

 

I'd love it so much if my fiance bought me a dishwasher. We always have a big pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen coz we both hate doing dishes with a passion. When it gets toooo much and we have no clean dishes we play rock paper scissors and the loser will have to wash up.

 

What if he bought you a shiny set of pots and pans?

 

You mean as a gift ? If it was a gift, I'd take his credit card and buy myself a decent gift



Things like dishwashers and pots and pans are not gifts, but something for the household. Something we both need...So I dont consider buying that kinda stuff a big deal...

 

a dishwasher is a necessity? wtf planet are you on? a dishwasher is a waste of electricity and water. nothing more.
