and my EFTPOS (debit) card seized. Today was payday but now I can't access any cash. Gonna have to hustle something later. Shit. Being an adult sucks.
How Can They Do This And Leave You No Money For Food... And Where Are Your Family Whilst All This Drama Is Going On, Can't They Help You In Some Way....??? Cheers Glen.
They were threatening me with prosecution a few weeks ago unless I paid off my credit card in full (interest pushed it over the limit then i got a shit load of over-the-limit fees) I told them that's not gonna happen 'cause i still can't work & am on sickness welfare, so how the hell am I supposed to pay the entire thing off, but I could try to get a loan with my mum as a guarantor to pay it, I'd just need time to sort it all out. Maybe they aren't very patient. I've already had one letter from some law firm they've hired. All the branches are closed right now so I'll have to try & sort something out tomorrow & hopefully they wont be dicks about it
are you sure they won't let you off if you pay the amount over the limit, stop using the card and just keep paying the normal payments?
I haven't used the card since it initially went over the limit. Its my everyday account that's been frozen now.
oh dear Same bank for both? That totally blows. I think if it was my bank they'd probably be ok as long as I pushed it back within the limit and kept up with the payments.
No it doesn't. Being stupid and irresponsible with credit is what stupid kids do, not intelligent adults.
Being an adult doesn't suck, you suck at being an adult. Big difference. That said, hope you get things figured out.
Did you say anything about Jp Morgan, Goldman Sachs or, the banker bailouts? And did you get that shit back on yet?
That’s a very good point, you never want to have a credit card with your own bank because if you do get into financial trouble they can freeze your assets (bank account) If he/she could have anticipated the shortfall it would have been wise to switch banks Hotwater
Yeah my current account is with a different bank to my credit card. But that wasn't intentional. Now that I think about it though, it's probably for the best (just in case), for this reason
That's a very good point.. I was considering getting a car loan/mortgage/personal loan from my credit union that I use with my entire income, but this makes me want to read all my agreements first.. I haven't even talked to a representative about that yet, but when I do, this gives me several questions to ask them before I place the loan. Most likely they will give me the best rate though.. I also know what I can afford, so even if they do say that they will take everything if i bust a payment, I most likely won't bust the payment in the first place... Also I could just stop the direct deposit of my payroll... also, I've been an adult for twelve years and am now just trying to get into the adult financial world. I got a credit card from Merrick Bank, an account with a credit union, and a 1.75 year car loan that I just paid off this month.. My goal is to buy a house.. once I buy a house, fuck all else.. that's the end of my financial climb.. Unless I buy a shitty house that I wanna pay off quickly to use as equity on a better house.
