This summer, I am living in a tent at the camp site that I work for. I love it! Try it some time! Peace and love
I enjoy waking up every morning to a fresh sky. I like to see the many insects that somehow make their way into my tent. I even enjoy tent repair, although it seems like a pain at the time. Living in a tent helps me appreciate all the luxuries in life. Peace and love
Bivy's are your friend! I prefer sleeping on the ground outside. The bivy is a must to keep unwanted friends from sleeping with you.
I am going to be living in a tent for four days at the Gathering of the Vibes. I haven't spent time in a tent in years. I want to go to Burning Man if you know what I mean; survival in the dessert for a week. I like to push myself to the point of misery sometimes. I just need to figure out how to get the rain tarp up over the main tent so that I can get in and out while it's secured.
thats exactly what i wanna do! i plan on working in some kind of national or state park/nature reserve and i would just live on the campsites. that would be so awsome
Only problem with that (depending on where you are) would be the hordes of stupid fat tourists in RVs. Camp about a mile AWAY from the campground
I lived in a tent for over a year in northern canada, well the tent kinda transformed into an igloo, but it was hell get a bus Ithink my back still hurts from it.
Yes, It would be snowing outside my cabover camper but I was pleanty warm from my own body heat inside. It is good to have insulation. It is good to be have a truck that can go to where the people are not located. The peace and quiet, the lack of the electrical hum, the freedom, it was all wonderful.
I know a guy who basically lives at this Wildlife Management Area that I always go to.. he actually has a house nearby but never goes there; he enjoys the simple life way too much! I've chilled with him a bunch over the summer, and he's a really wise old dude! He knows all about the medicinal uses of the plants in the area, etc. It's pretty cool to realize that there are still people out there with the ambition and willingness to challenge conventional ways...
