The "ROUTEMASTER" ("RM") was the very last of the "hop on/hop off" buses designed for London.

They were also the last front-engined buses ordered by LT.

It was not until the early/mid-1960's that rear-engined, one-man (no conductor) buses with automatic doors began to appear; "ATLANTEANS" (now historic themselves) were once commonplace in London and in other British cities for many years (a number are today preserved)

The Routemasters still in London are those used in tourist service; the very last ran in regular service in 2005.

Like the earlier "RT" buses, the Routemaster quickly became a London icon.

Bus conductors were once in large numbers in London; today, they are but a proud, fading memory......

Politics can learn a lot from this.... Factors like transport is a primary political issue and I bet he used to watch his father make a lot of sense over dinner after working hours. Boris was once virtually blamed for the Thames freezing over. If only the internet would stick to these solvable issues where we can all work together to make a better world.

Racial and religious prejudices, have, sadly, been with us since the dawn of civilization.....and we STILL can't get it right.

Being raised "color blind", and always tolerant of the other man's beliefs, for the life of me, I still cannot fathom why there is still so much intolerance and hatred.

White, black, yellow, brown, Christian, Jewish, Muslin, Buddhist, atheist.......straight, gay, bisexual......what does it matter?

We are ALL part of ONE race.....the HUMAN race; that being said, I think we are LONG overdue to FINALLY bond together as brothers and sisters, and, for once and for all, STOP all the petty nonsense and hatred.

SUPPOSEDLY, we are supposed to be CIVILIZED BEINGS......its about time we start ACTING like it.....
