A Tune or a Note is a Frequency.. like a Mantra/Sutra.. it creates a universal medium of thought transference.. Twas' thought in earily mankind that certian frequencies in concession would penitrate the Heavens and reach the God/dess..prayer was put to different arrangements by the Sutra of oneself and relayed to God on the tones/wavelenghts that we are all connected to our Source with..we also put our praise to God/dess in tone arragements and sing our Glad Tidings. Eventually it evolved into what is called music.. to glorify.. we use it to glorify Love, we also use it to convey our emotions on different subjects... we sing to reach out and connect to likeminded ones, connecting to the All with what message is being convied with strenght in numbers. Bright Blessings sh
Music has always been an inspiration to me. I enjoyed reading your definition. I played trumpet many years with different bands, even tried banjo, piano, and dulcimer. Non of this seemed to satisfy the song writer in me because I could never express what I wanted with a piano, I never could play banjo good enough and the three stringed dulcimer I built just didn't seem to make sense to the tunes in my mind and the words in my heart. Back in January I bought my first guitar at a pawn store: a blue Ibanez which had only 5 strings at the time. I put new strings on her and began learning on my own. By February I was able to play for my father who was dying at the hospital. By the end of July I had written two songs, but was tired of just G, C, and D chords, so in September I started taking lessons. So on Wednesdays I strap guitar on back and follow the path to lessons down the road. It has definitely changed my life, and gave me a new way to worship God. Peace and Love!!!
We are all here on Earth enjoying the "Music of the Spheres", celestial music that energizes and inspires us. We can't hear it like a normal song, but it vibrates through our beings like a chord from an electric guitar. At times it's harmonious, at other times dissonant. Just ask any astrologer! We can add our own voices and musical talents to the Music of the Spheres, but we must be in synch, in key and singing the same cosmic song. I think the Grateful Dead were the best at that. They could take their audiences on a cosmic trip (and bring them back the same day!)...
music is the vernacular of the human soul. music is more telling than logic. our brain thinks in words- our soul thinks in music.
I'm inclined to believe some music, art,and religions, have all come from the same source.the source of a universal mind!
Music keeps me (relatively) sane, lol. It's one of the best things in my life. I wish I could learn how to play the guitar and write songs, though, so I could express some of the feelings that are in my soul...
If it wasn't for music, rock music, Indian sitar, in particular, I would have killed someone, or myself. Music makes me grounded, relaxed, keeps my sanity in an insane world. I say, Rock On!
Music is a safe cocoon to protect you from an ugly, hostile world. It's a sanctuary. And when I go out on the streets filled with dumb, selfish creatures, I carry my music like a suit of armour. Music is a rift that separates my personal world with a bigger one that I do not wish to be a part of.
It's more the other way around here: through music I feel how great and sublime the world is. I also don't take my music with me on the streets for sure, I tend to get confused while listening intense to good music and acting normal around people who don't hear the same at that time . It truly alters my perception and behaviour, as weird as it may sound.
Music is God,it takes you to a heavenly place, makes your soul pure....Words usually come easy to me, but when it comes to music,Im speechless, that´s how great and meaningful to me music is.so, in a few words, Music=Life.
I read once that in ancient China the Emperors had a government position that was called the Keeper of the Keys and his job was to make sure that the music of decline was not played in the Kingdom so that the Kingdom would remain strong and healthy. So, I guess my question is do you feel that there is healthy and unhealthy Music (Music that builds up and Music that tears down)?
I have heard that there is "dark" music. Music that causes bad things to come out in ppl. Chords that stuck a wrong note in ppl as such. I always just thought it was hogwash but I don't know maybe it is some truth there somewhere? What does everyone think. I tell you what OlderWaterBrother I'll copy this into a new thread so everyone can comment over in the random thoughts forum.
This makes sense to me. The united states is in decline and listen to what kind of music's being played onthe radio, on tv.....most of us here probably dont listen to the radio OR watch tv, but it is all around us and affecting those people that do (and even us, subliminally).
