Has anybody played an instrument on acid? Do you still? The Grateful Dead would play while soaring and said that it wasn't them playing, that they were just an outlet for the sound. I play bass and definitely find what I play while frying is infinitely better than anything else I could play. I just let my fingers move how they want, I don't control them. It's unbelievable when the entire band is tripping and playing together. Anybody else do this?
I actually wrote several songs off acid and shrooms. lyrics never made any sense but I could bust out some mean guitar parts. everything would flow through you into the guitar and lead you in directions that is unbelievable. Over 80% of what I play while frying I can't mimic but there are the few times where it comes out just the way it did only a few hours before.
i was playing my brothers little fake piano on acid, i was convienced that i was a musican becuase that shit sounded hella good!!!!! Everyone is saying that their music "didn't make sense"...well mine did and it was awesome!!
whenever i played on acid i kept on getting distracted. i thought the sound was surrounding me. it sounded cool though. when i was listening to music on acid i thought i figured out a new way to listen. like i thought that i could hear the notes while they were being played and could watch cracks in between the crests of every wavelength of sound that i heard. nuts dude.
Oh, yeah, and it´s really hard to play it, when before every note you always have to meditate, how to play this f**kin thing...
oh helllll yeah... i play guitar man and its so much better. i duno a lot of beginning musicians say they can't play, but i think its a confidence issue. cuz i notice that when im trippin and think about having to play, i get super nervous thinking i have something to prove etc. but when i pick it up it just like, oh man its like this synergy where you are both listening and playing at the same time. like your fingers move on their own while "you" simply listens and doesn't try to influence it, just enjoys it. it feels more like im singing but in a different way.
hell yea I play guitar when I dose.....I take at least an hour or two every trip to jam out and play....there are no limits to when you are playing, and its kind of like you have some super powers, jsut going up and down that fret board, then finding a chunky groove. peace out
hmm...never tried..i always jam but i should play my drumset or djembe (hand drum) while dosing...how about shroomz?? same effect??
I guess it'd be the same with most psychedelics, even mildly with pot. However, I think the unique feeling you get while on acid has the most to do with it. As I think somebody said--synergy. You feel this connection with the instrument and you are one and the same. Anybody who has done acid should understand this feeling. Everything flows together:::::cosmic consciousness.
Image how fun it would have been to be Jimi Hendrix. Peaking on acid in front of a wall of marshalls cranked to 10 with a million people grooving to you and groupies waiting for you after the show....
i tried playing a korg triton I used to have, while on shrooms; no dice, it freaked me out. i want to trip and play my moog, that would be even more wicked. It's analog, so it manipulates the electricity coming from the wall outlet, and does the weirdest sound effects. pink floyd used a lot of moog in their music, so did kraftwerk.
On low doses of acid I am always so much better... But with a more solid dosage, while the effects are coming up, its liekw almost impossible, you are disabled by your own feelings that are leading to exagerated smile...While coming down the well there its more stable easier to play. LSD use in my everyday guitar playing has made me so instinctive its crazy, all i do is improvisation toward what i can I find psychedelic. Its awesome when all you do is transfer your feeling and psychedelia, and your hands do the rest, its like a game thats very easy but you can make so intense stuff!
