wow. its been posted time after time after time after time, and yet people still ask. there are plenty of sites with this information, and yet people ask. google would turn up plenty of results, and yet people ask.

oh well, i guess one more time answering this question wont kill anyone.

    here it goes.

    you need:
    mushrooms
strongly flavored tea of your choice
    sweetener if you desire
    means of straining liquid
bottled water (tap water may damage it)

you need to break up the mushrooms as fine as possible. think powder.
next heat the water till it is just BELOW the boiling point. if its boiling, its too hot.
steep the mushrooms in the water for a good 15-20 minutes at least before straining.
while steeping the mushrooms, at some point you need to add the tea to help mask the fungal flavor. the beginning is the best time, as its when the water is at its highest temperature. any black tea (including spiced black tea [chai] and earl grey) or strongly flavored herbal tea will work well. dont steep the tea for as long as the mushrooms or it will be overextracted and bitter tasting. i recommend 5 minutes.

once the 20 minute steeping of the mushrooms is done, you need to strain off the solids.

add sweetener (honey, sugar) if you desire it. drink.

a big help to mushroom tea enthusiasts is empty teabags you can purchase anywhere that sells loose leaf teas. herbal shops, organic groceries, and some other types of places sell these. they're not hard to find.

if consumed all at once, effects hit around 10 minutes.
if consumed slowly, effects will become apparent in an appropriately more slow manner.

Is it neccessary to strain the tea? I am used to drinking unsweetened and strong tea. I was wondering if you can just steep for 20 mins, then drink?

It's just a matter of how you prefer your tea. It won't affect anything pertaining to the mushrooms.

you don't have to strain, but that leaves shroom chunks in the liquid. if thats what you want, it's up to you

yeah, and depending on how they were grown, some vermiculite, too.

virtually all the magic is in the liquid, with little to none left in the mushrooms. you CAN eat/ingest them if you want, not strain them off, but it pretty much defeats the point of taking them in tea.
