Many many years ago I read in a edible plant book that raw mullberry shoots and green berries contained hallucinogens, so i ate a BIG mullberry salad . It did nothing . So many years later i went on a one of my weed eating fasting binges that lasted a mounth or so. After a strict diet of lambs quarters, pursalen, and lots of mullberry shoots I stepped into a seperate reality ! Really ,a world of spirts, good and evil ..I could "see".
Does anybody know what the hallucinogen is.Any information on this would be geatly appriciated!
This is not to be taken lightly. I was arrested twice and sent to the psych ward on both occasions.I was really out there!
    So beware!

There are a couple different kinds of mullberry in north america. The white mullberry was introduced to try and start a silk trade in colonial times (silk worms eat mulberry leaves). The other mullberries are native. I do not know if it is species specific but have heard about mullberries all my life, never tried it though. Funny thing is, botanists used to list the mullberries, osage orange and hemp in the same extended family.

Thanks guys, I allready read everything on the google.I 'm wondering why this is'nt listed as a psychedelic,as a specific poison or what ever ,cause its not! Everything I can find just says "contains hallucinogens" or "causes hallucinations". What the fuck, you could say that about any psychedelic ! And as for poisen ,them fuckers checked the shit out of me in the nuthouse and I showed no i'll pysical effects at all! Shit dudes i was wide eyed and bushytailed .This was after a month of being in the "spirt world".

Various Mulberry species have been used and continue to be used as a folk medicine for a wide variety of things. It is reported to contain some Piperadines compounds. Doesn't seem to be much information about it on the net.
