I like Electric Mud, but its not my fave Muddy. Most of his work is pretty amazing, and hes one of the best bluesmen recorded. Good stuff.
I just taped a song of Muddy's today - Just Another Wine Bar. Fingerpicking style which was a nightmare to learn. Been practising for around 15 months now but heck this stuff is hard to pull off and to create anything worth listening too. You sure got to hand it to the likes of Muddy Waters. Not sure this link will work to my rendition of Just Another Wine Bar but lets see! http://programs-4u.com/media/mine/newmedia.php? Think it does. Just click to see the video which is a windows media file. Like you I love the old recordings of blues and I practise hard each day to try and capture a bit of their magic. MKJ (Mark Wales UK)
Hard Again is one of Muddy's best albums. VERY powerful... If you like Muddy, check out Big Bill Morganfield, Muddy's son, who is touring today.
Deep river blues, I had no idea Rl burnside died, I was just watching You see me laughing the other day.

He's just raw talent. I absolutely love Muddy Waters...his music makes me wanna get up and groove. Fantastic guitar work. I'm a believer in champagne when I'm thirsty and reefer when I wanna get high. Ohhhh yea
Electric Mud is really nothing like his other stuff. It was his attempt to cash in on the psychedelic sixties... but I love that album moreso than his other work.
