Moving to Salem Area - Help me find hip neighborhoods!

    I'm moving to the Salem area in the next month or two for a job. I'd like suggestions about hip neighborhoods or small towns within about 20 miles of Salem. I'm a liberal vegetarian girl at heart and want to be near cool people, or at least away from jerks. Ideas?
