one thing i love most of all, are movies that really make you think afterwards.. i find them the only type of movie that is actually truly worth watching. iv seen some good ones such as hate, american history x, fight club... yah the basics, but does anyone else have any suggestions on good movies of this type?

Craig you suck, but just to be nice I'll add some movies: -The Matrix (if you manage to see past all the special effects) -A Clockwork orange -American Beauty -Boys don't cry (Never seen it but supposedly is good) -Contact
There are so many good thinking movies: - Being John Malkovich - Adaptation <----I love this one so much - Magnolia - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Baraka - The Weather Underground - Capturing the Friedmans - Vanilla Sky - Elephant by Gus Van Strat - The Believer - Primer (though confusing as all hell) and more...

fire walk with me? the guys having sex with his daughter...it doesn't make me think it makes me want to remove people from the face of the earth. Brazil...the whole Gilliam series, Time Bandits and Baron Munch are all very great.
yeah the whole gilliam series has ALOT of symbolism i havent seen munch but i realy want to, and Twin Peaks is definitly more then just one 4 minute sence its a very complex movie like lost highway(my favorite lynch film) or muhollen dr.(which was ok)
This movie makes no sense. So i would say it isn't very good for thinking. Salvador Dali helped write this, and he said that they tried to make the movie make absolutley no sense.
the film is made to shock and make the audience feel emotions its a thinking films in the sence of the emotions and thoughts it produces, it wasnt just to make a film for the hell of it there was reason, and there isnt a "hidden meaning" the film is basicly a dream
"Mindwalk" is a trip, I'd definitely recommend that; also check out "Genesis" and "Microcosmos" which are more like a combo of art film and documentary but worth the watch. Might be better if you smoke weed, but I saw them without smoking and still loved them. "Baraka" is also similar to these. I also liked "Beyond Borders" which I found pretty moving.
