The opposite of Duck's thread, Movies everyone else raves about, but you think suck. Blade Runner seems to top a lot of best sci fi lists, I have no idea why, crap compared to stuff like T2, Matrix, Star Wars. As for Star Wars, I dont know why everyone seems to think Empire was better than Return of the Jedi, Jedi was awesome Lord of the rings - I found every movie way too long and boring Godfather I n II - way overated Zoolander or Anchorman - how the fuck are these movies funny? Casablanca - except the ending, the movie is pretty boring, I much prefer Bogie in African Queen
Every Saw movie. Alright I get it, blood, fear, guilt and horror...blah blah blah. The Happening. They were seriously running from wind... I'm with you on Lord of the Rings. Too long and exhausting on my brain. Final Destination (1,2,3, and 4) Lame. Crap. Romantic comedies. Elder actors taking roles with less action, and try to make up for it with cutesy comedy. Pshh.
It is out.. And it was downright painful to watch. Everyone else I know whose seen it thought it was pathetic as well.
T2, Matrix and everything Star Wars except for Empire would be on my "suck" list. Blade Runner rules. Also Dark Knight, North by Northwest, Taxi Driver, 2001 Space Odyssey. Anything by Tarantino.
Pineapple Express -- only the action scenes were funny. The Butterfly Effect is hilarious .. the time travel and it's effects have absolutely no rule or sense to it; whatever is convenient at the time for the writers. The Lord of the Rings series. Truth. Who cares if it has a bunch of cute furry muppets? No one complains about Chewbacca or R2-D2. The film is exciting from beginning to end, has more epic scenes than any other in the series, is the best balanced in the series; has the best light-saber duel and the most atmosphere. The first half was good, so were Hector Hammond and the completely underused Sinestro. The constructs were awesome looking, but really the best part of the movie was Abin-Sur's ship in the very beginning. Also, Blake Lively's ass in a business skirt is awesome in 3d Overall it didn't kinda suck. Hal Jordan was surprisingly well acted (for Ryan Reynolds) but completely ruined by the script. For a comic fan like myself there were a lot of facepalm moments.
Pulp Fiction was the only one I liked, and that had more to do with Samuel Jackson. Everything Else sucked, especially Kill Bill - what the fuck was that, wasnt about anything, not enough story for 1/2 a movie let alone 2
the worst part was the dialog. It was like they made a list of the top 100 cheesiest, most cliche lines they could think of, then tried to form a coherent plot around them. The special effects were cool though.
And Luke was such a putz in the first two movies. The movie came out when I was 12, so at the height of my teenboy fandom. In the cinema and that scene comes up where he enters Jabbas Palace, and all of a sudden he's a Jedi and now all Clint Eastwoody - I almost creamed myself. That and it had the Emperor - who was scary as all fuck at 12
