one of the greatest and most influentual rock and roll/metal bands in my opinion. lemmy is a legend.

Check out Hawkwind, a cool space rock band lemmy played bass in before he did motorhead.

 

Hawkwinds Kings of speed even sounds alot like Ace of spades. :tongue:

 

Saw them at my first ever gig a few years back.....thought they were great. I own a few albums, but Im not a big fan.

Heard Hawkwind as well...........another great band. Only heard Space Ritual and In Search of Space albums though, but they have like 50 albums, and I figured they cant all be good.

 

I saw Hawkwind live too, they were great! But I guess they're one of my favourite bands, so I really looked forward to see them live. Motorhead is real festivalband, I think I run into their shows at at least five festivals

Man I would soo love to live in germany or Holland, I would go see one of my favourite bands play gigs like every week.

 

Yeah, I'm from the Netherlands. I saw Motorhead in Germany and my own country a lot over the years. Only had one chance to see Hawkwind but I grabbed it right away!

 

When you saw Hawkwind did Lemmy play in it or does he only do Motörhead nowadays?

 

No, I thought they had Alan Davey playing in his place. As far as I know Lemmy hasn't done anything with Hawkwind after Warrior on the edge of time.

 

Yeah, I thought he hasnt been in them for 30+ years or something. They kicked him out because got arrested for possesion of drugs going over to Canada or something?

 

yeah on the canadian border he got pulled in for speed, he was the only speedfreak left on the band at that point. they thought it was cocaine though.
the rest of the band went onto the gig and only bailed him out because the replacement couldnt get there in time, he played the gig and afterwards they fired him.

And my favourite song is Orgasmatron...it's sounds damn wicked

I listened to Going To Brazil on shrooms and flipped out.

But the good kind of flipped out, like colours going to the groove of the music and stuff lol

 

Best gig for me in a long while was Motorhead in New Plymouth,New Zealand last year..inspired me it did, kicked my arse,fired me up, got me motivated..just as music should...

 

im a huge fan,from the beginning with fast eddie clarke,philthy animal taylor,to micky dee and the new line up..loud ugly no frills scare your neighbors rock n roll.god bless em
