My partner first came to me with this concept of a motle. It is a movie title spoken during the movie. So let's say, Suicide Squad, Will Smith says "So, what are we, some type of suicide squad?" That's a motle. And it's become this exciting thing for us lol. Like we watch movies and then get really excited when we hear the motle. Who else does this??
There was a student film club at my university that were notorious for jokingly taking a title spoken in a film as being the end of the movie. If someone said the film title, they would all stand up, applaud, and then leave.
It may as well be the end of the movie for us too because generally I find in serious movies the title is spoken in a key conversation and we end up saying "hey did you hear that motle??" and talking to the point we miss the key conversation.
Actually, in the movie alien.. I'm not 100% sure it's ever said only maybe in reference to "alien spacecraft" and in aliens.. the word xenomorph is used.. "they're over there man look??" never referenced... but when Gormon is giving the briefing.. "a xenomorph might be involved" excuse me sir, a what? "a xenomorph".. it's a bug hunt.. Ripley: "this... this ting that wiped out my entire crew in less than 24hrs and if the colonists have found that ship theres no telling how many have been exposed, do you hear me?" in fact, i can only ever remember Pharoe say "alien" once. "hey Mia, who's snow white? - "blah blah apparenly, she saw an alien once". also Ripley "we go to wipe them out, not to bring back, not to experiment on"
It's an alien from a SciFi novel titled "The mote in God's eye", written by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.
A Hobo With A Shotgun was also has a fantastic "motle" where me and my missus were like woooo there it is.
