All over my goddamn house.... they're annoying little bastards. One flew on my head while I was falling asleep and I squashed the little motherfucker and it started emitting a foul odor! Agh! Who else has this problem?
Gah Stinky bugs?! No way. I don't like bugs coming in my house when they donot stink, but stinky bugs no way! Why are they stinky because they eat poo?
I am sitting on a couch, the couch is on the wooden floor and the wooden floor is on the ground. The ground is on a tectonic plate that is on a giant red fireball of molten rock and metal. That is embedded within a multi-dimensional space that is bent through the weight of it's own gravity.
i try to avoid using my heat, so any bugs in my apartment are probably lying catatonic somewhere waiting for the temperature to go up.
this. and get a jar fill it with soapy water.. capture the stink bug with a piece of duct tape< not as time consuming as you think, place bug in jar.. this will keep them from attracting many more. killing them with force will release hormones to attract more. The pallbearers.
Try to seal up gaps where those things can come in. Sometimes easier said than done. On a more philosophical side, stink bugs and bed bugs have become a real problem in the U.S.. This is an embarassing situation for America where the floors are supposed to be clean enough for the baby to eat off of and where people get into the shower before seeking shelter when the atomic bombs are going off. .
Once they have come inside its to late.. you can seal cracks all you want. you can never seal them all.. I have a house thats 3 stories tall. It would cost $2,000.00 in caulking alone to seal everything and would still not be sealed. This is a hardcore insect.. Its also a cold weather tolerant. some insects become dormant at 50° the stinkbug can tolerate temps in the 30's and still be mobile. Im convinced it is the new cockaroach for the rich and wealth. they have no natural predetors, birds will not eat them. They are ground and surface insects and bats will not come in contact with them very often either, and your mouser cat will find them disgusting and no longer find interest in catching flying insect once introduced to the stinkbugs fumes.. Sticky trap and cautious removal of them will slow them down, but not stop them.. they can also swim, If you flush them down a drain and its dry. They will crawl back out with no problems at all.. sucking them up into canister or beater vacuums will either ruin the sweeper, release more hormones and millions will come. They can crawl out a filter canister vac with ease, They are armor plated. hence their other name Armor bug...
^^^ This is reminiscent of that dark-humored movie Creepshow when that wealthy cleanliness-oriented old fellow (Upson Pratt) in the special high-tech apartment was overcome by cockroaches no matter what attempts he made to get rid of them. .
I know my country house had them also. but since the house was as cold the outside, they didnt find it to attractive and didnt settle in. also I used no methods to kill them. thus not releasing the hormones to bring more.. If they are in there now they will die with the extreme cold just like the outside.. Like what undies said. House is too cold inside for them to wanna be in there. I found last year the Heat from the Air conditioners were bringing them in too. finding the really warm spots under the AC to be perfect and the cracks between the window perfect to get to get in..
Some have used bleach in a shop vac with some success. Warmth and light attract them, a bummer since people like both. Outdoor lighting for security reasons works against you when it comes to stink bugs. http://www.asktheexterminator.com/Household_Pests/How_to_Get_Rid_of_Stink_Bugs.shtml " Rather than use sprays that may impact our environment, try using a large sized shop vac. Pour 10 ounces of water mixed with 2 ounces of Clorox into the shop vac. Suck up the Stink Bugs and they will die immediately in the large container. This has worked for me. In the last 2 hours, I have removed over 300 stink bugs, without causing any harm to my young children, my next-door neighbors, or my immediate environment." .
yeah. cause the tube to the vac isnt reachable either., its on the top then a big wide space and long drop for an insect.. Those vacuums like this one http://www.vacuumman.com/images/canister/gardian.jpg you see the tube close to the housing ,only thing keeping the bug in there is Air pressure when on. once off they walk right back out.. good idea shaggie. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry, I Beg To Differ, Any Insect That Goes Into The Bag Is Torn To Shreds By The Grains Of Dirt Swirling Around In There.... Cheers Glen.
maybe some bugs glen, not all stink bugs.. you can hit them with a wiffle ball bat, they will just fly funny for a sec and come right back.. once you kill this insect it releases a hormone to attract more. (Fact!) its best not to crush them at all...
For those of you troubled by stinkbugs, don't let this happen to you! These two clips are kinda neat also because you get a glimpse of what the internet was like in the early 80s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp7F9oXIV74"]YouTube - Creepshow (1982) Part 11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86kKGPkUXBI"]YouTube - Creepshow (1982) Part 12 .
