In my opinion i think nature(volcano, solor storm, other kinds of storms, huricane, tornado, earthquakes etc. etc.) will be the end of us

I find this by how the weather has been acting wierd latley, figure it, the ice is melting in north and south pole, foring more water to cause more problems for the coastal cities.

I dont know much about everywhere eles but i live in the middle of California and its been raining so much, so much wind, so much floods, not the type of weather we have in California

I would be glad to hear your opinions.

I agree with you. Here everything is catching on fire. I think it's just the world's way of dealing with overpopulation more or less.

don't forget diseases and starvation, and suseptability to illness due to malnourishment. these are the ways nature has always restored balance to biospheric communities when one speceis becomes unbalancedly overpopulated within them.

with our big brains we keep comming up with cures that have so far enabled us to continue to increasingly overpopulate, but nature keeps coming up with new diseases at an ever faster rate.

whether or not this will at some point out pace us, global warming and increasing climatological extremes, which are the manifestation thereof, are in all probability primarily the work of our own hands, specificly the order of magnitude increase in the use of combustion to generate energy and propell transportation over the past couple of centuries.

what i'm expecting is either a die off, draconian and painful, or simple attrition, far less so, in neither case, while total demise of human population is possible, a much reduced and healthier human population comming out the other side is a very real possibility too.

considering how long either of these take to happen i'm not holding my breath or expecting to see it in my own life. though i would love to be living in the kind of world there will be when this has finaly taken place and concluded.

tecnology will still be possible, but basing it on the combustion of fuels that will no longer be available will not. nor are any of our today's dominantly conventional ways of thinking likely to survive. and as they are the core of the problem, this last will be a very good thing.

clean rivers and no cars. probably a lot of walking, but small trainlike sysems built to extremely modest dimentional scale, though still possibly serving vast areas and distances, are also possible. as likewise something like our computers and internet. all using a minimum of energy, generated by wind, water and photovoltaics, because there won't be, much of anything with which to do so else.

Much of this weird weather is the result of human activity. Mother nature won't be the end of us; we will be the end of ourselves.

what we are doing to the earth is the reason all these "natural disasters" are happening...i mean think about it... are they really "natural" disasters or are we killing ourselves by polluting the are causing global warming which is causing the melting of ice caps... its crazy... the amount of these disasters keep increasing during the years as technology increases... the end is near my friends....

    we are raping the earth

we are indeed raping the earth and screwing ourselves by doing so, but scapegoating tecnology isn't going to solve it either. i mean yes there are tecnologies that are destructive and that we could get along with out, like automobiles and coal fired electrical generating plants, but let's not loose sight that it is our priorities that determine how tecnology is used, and by doing so, even the very directions in which it evolves.

and if we're actualy going to solve anything, and whatever dieties exist arn't going to solve it for us on any kind of a silver platter, this is what it is up to us to focus on and do something about.

there is no reason we can't. just a million zillion excuses for adamantly refusing to do so.

recent tsunamis, hurricanes, floodings and landslides are because of climate change. Which is caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide from the cars you drive to the enery used to send post to Hipforums. hmmm, what to do..

what to do? wind, solar, hydro, shanks mares, and public transit powerd from wind, solar, and hydro. keep refrigeration and if possible the internet. most of the rest of what we take for granted we can live as well if not better without.

use good sense instead of trying to impress each other to determine what gets build where. don't build to impress but only to shelter what needs to be sheltered.

flanged wheel on steel rail uses energy and land both more effeciently then rubber tire on pavement, but even that needs to be built to a much smaller scale then what we are familiar with.

and of course lots of nice sturdy places to sit where people have to walk and invitingly for them to do so.

the only thing keeping us from having that kind of a world are the misplaced priorities, political and economic arrogance keep brain washing us into.
