Every TV show has to have a turd. A character who f**cks up everything. Eddie Haskel was the first turd. Kramer was the biggest turd. Big Bang is all turds. And the all-time spinoff turd, Young Sheldon. I didn’t/don’t watch most of the shows in the nine pages, so I’m not sure if I hate the characters. I despise Roseann for her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner and grabbing her crotch. And Rosie O’Donnell because of her personality. Thanks bugsboner for Bumwaffle! Love it!
Roseanne - always wanted to see more of this show. i didn't see her as evil tho, she just came across as your average naggy housewife to me. Deborah Ramone - same as Roseanne. although this show i actually watched and enjoyed. Penny - penny is cool. what upsets me about penny is that she is thrown in there for basically comic relief to contrast the 'weirdness' of the nerdy characters and sort of an anchor for 'normal people'. thing is i think it kinda backfires because i most people who want to watch the show probably identify more with some of the nerds than they do with penny. so it's like "who the fuck is this chick". that's one of the reasons i stopped watching the show.
Yeah man. There was an episode in the earlier seasons about police brutality. It was just a deeper, smarter show before they made Urkel the main focus Edit, not that i'm an expert, thats the only earlier season episode i really remember. But Urkel was dumb Stefan, on the other hand
Gilligan! If it weren't for him, those castaways would have been off that island the first year, and many times after. What I can't figure out is why they didn't lock him up in a bamboo cage after the first time he screwed up their chance to be rescued. I mean, they didn't even slap him up. Sure the Skipper would swat him with his hat, but that's like a slap on the wrist.
Exactly Steve Urkel played by Jaleel White was to Family Matters as Dr. Smith (Jonathan Harris) was to Lost in Space. Without either character the shows would have been cancelled after their second season.
most shows that are allowed to stick around, do so because of their worst qualities. if a show has no bad qualities, it's cancelled after season 1.
Worst qualities, perhaps in the case of Jonathan Harris on Lost in Space, to be sure, but in the case of Urkel his inventions were always well meaning. Much of Dr. Smith’s conniving and scheming ways was tantamount to attempted murder, treason, and larceny. The Robinson Family alone would have been more like Swiss Family Robinson (only in Space) and how boring would that have been.
