I have seen bottles that people have turned into mosaic pieces of art. We have save a bunch of bottles and I am looking for ideas. Thought someone on here might know how one mosaics one. Hippietoad
I have made a few mosaic's in the past few years and I will share the one that worked out great! It was a round lamp. I found pieces of old stain glass at a local store; wrapped it in brown paper and smashed it with a hammer. (You can put the glass in anything that will keep it from flying all over once broken) I bought a clear glue call Duco Cement, which works REALLY good with glass. After I spent weeks placing all the glass pieces I filled in all of the spots with grout. They have many different colors of grouts but if you can't find the color you want, buy a light grey and add paint; it works great! Srap off all extra grout from pieces of glass and it's complete! Good luck and please share your creations!
Hey man, I don't have any info on mosaic bottles, but my friends mom is an art teacher, and she does this cool thing with old liquor bottles by melting them in a kiln, you should look it up it looks really cool when finished, she did it with an absolut vodka bottle and the words came out all warped, and squgly it was cool.
Hey Love, That sounds kewl. I'll do a google search for it. Think today I'll go into my cracked planter bin and see what I have that I can turn into mosaics. Might even hit the thrift store for some old plates, cups, saucers to break. Now to find oil lamp kits. Off to ebay
