Yeah, those fist 14 weeks are not "glowing" for a lot of mamas. Some have the illness for the entire time, but most feel better once they are into the second trimester.

I always found keeping enough carbs, protien, sugar and fluid in me was good for the nausea. I ate all the time when I was pregnant. And it helped me to feel less sick. I even had crackers on the headboard of the bed, so I could eat some before I even sat up all the way. It helped me.

    Blessings.

saltines were my best friend during m/s time. It does help a lot to munch on a few before getting outta bed. Also (i dunno if this is true or not, had a nutritionist tell me this after i was thru w/ m/s) if you eat like a half hour before bed, its supposedly not as bad in the morning. And believe it or not, everyones right... it will end, it will get better! :p Lots of love!

I had very mild any-time-of-the-day sickness with my oldest son, and a tad more intense sickness with my twins, (a boy AND a girl).

Like others have said, protein is great, as well as carbs. My favorite remedy was Saltines with peanut butter. :)

I wonder if you're having a girl? I've heard that sometimes women carrying girl babies tend to have pretty bad morning sickness. Most of the ladies I've known that had it really bad went on to have baby girls, but then again, I'm sure there are always exceptions to that! ;)

... i have no idea what i'm having... or if i'm having it... that decision is to be made.... soon. ..... but i've always wanted a little girl... so that would be nice.... *sigh*

Morning sickness just makes the whole situation worse because it just adds to the stress of making a decision.. i cant just take the bus into town and sit on the beach and think because i feel to woozy on a bus.... and eveytime i think too much about the situations the stress makes me feel sicker. :(

    ah dear.

I had horrible morning sickness with my son, absolutely awful constant barfing for the first 4 months or so. In addition to crackers I'd recomend candied ginger. Ginger is really good for settling the tummy, ginger tea would work too but I'm a bit of a sugar monkey so candied worked for me.Health food stores have it.And hang in there, eventually you'll start glowing!

I've been pregnant 3 times, and never threw up (except when i was pregnant with my second child, and had the flu at christmas, but that doesn't count). The first time, i was never really sick, the second time i just felt "yucky" for about 4 weeks, and with this one, it started before i took the test, and finally got better around week 16.

Peppermint tea has been my best friend (add 1-2 tsp dried peppermint to cup of hot water, wait 5 minutes, and strain). Green tea (Arizona makes one that's really tasty, and has something like 17mg of caffeine--i think 300mg in a day is safe?) also helps, in my experience.
