Where have you been lately? My family lives in Phoenix, THE KIDNAPPING CAPITAL OF THE UNITED STATES.

This whole cartel violence thing is no longer just about drugs. In a previous thread somewhere around here we talked about the effect of human trafficking on the current situation.

I don't care why National Guard troops are put on the border, something needs to be done to protect Americans from the violence. Tuscon, Arizona (home to the University of Arizona) is also a very dangerous city because it it so close to the border.

I went on two mission trips with my uncle's Lutheran Church in the summers of 06 and 07 to Juarez to build houses for the poorest of the poor. I did not go last year but things were very tense. Police found half buried body parts behind the house we built in 2006 and the group was not allowed to travel anywhere except to the build site. This year they are not going at all because of the danger.

 

... Already 150 troops at the border. A 250 more? That's outragous. And 350 million bucks? Bullshitttttt

 

I'm In New Mexico... I support the troops being on the borders... I really don't like the weed being busted.. I like to see more of the meth and Coke get seized... that's the big money

It's the ineffective work by the cops... concentrating on the easy weed busts.. that has led up to this crisis... Bush's drug czar is the worse culprit in all this

legalize the green and tax it.. use that money to take care of things

 

Well, yeah its true theres a big kidnapping problem. But damn dude, the market for drugs is HUGE. it is by far the biggest source of income for the cartels.
