Like I tell people, for the most part Trump seems harmless to me. Or at least he probably won't do anymore harm than any other Republican as president, I think at least. I personally think his presidency is just a farce and a joke anyways. But I don't know for sure. I remember they used to say Ronald Reagan was harmless, at least personally. He was uninformed on most topics, and he really didn't have an education in politics or political science. He just let his advisors run the show. And his advisors, they used to say, were all hand picked by his rich country club friends. Most of Europe opposed Reagan and his policies. UK prime minister Margaret Thatcher did at first too. But then he won her over somehow. And she became his biggest supporter in Europe. (They said he won her over with his charm and handsomeness as an actor. I really don't know.)

Also, your ideology can be wrong, like if you think rich people shouldn't have to pay taxes. Like Andrew Mellon, who was US Secretary of the Treasury from 1921-32. But Andrew Mellon was very successful as Secretary of the Treasury, and he was very qualified. Better than most, even his critics agreed. And he did implement policies that helped stimulate the American economy in the 1920s. However, his policies were less effective during the Great Depression. And he resigned in 1932 amid criticism and impeachment proceedings.

Also, a couple of things I could never figure out about Ronald Reagan. Europeans and others said that he was literally endangering the world's very existence by escalating the nuclear arms race. Well, funneling money back into the economy by building more nuclear arms is actually a good idea. And nuclear arms were never going to be used. Either by the US or the Soviet Union. By the end of the Cold War, everyone knew that. (Now, if someone like Osama bin Laden got nuclear weapons, that's different. Because he might use them. And, I'd rather have someone like the US have nuclear arms. Because people like bin Laden would be less like to use them, or even try to get them, if they knew we had them.) Also, many people in the world, including our allies, criticized the US government, saying that malfunctions in the Pentagon computers almost led to nuclear annihilation four times in the 80's. And they said the US press didn't even cover this story. Well, actually our press did cover this story. It was way in the back of our newspapers, and not on the front page, that's true. And I, like most Americans at the time, just found that hard to believe. Maybe we came that close to nuclear destruction once or twice. But not four times. That's impossible. Anyways, the Pentagon has since fixed all its computers. And President Clinton did reform the Pentagon and military in other ways too, when he took office in 1993.

I also think all governments of the world are keeping secrets. I obviously don't know what they are, because they never told me either. And I guess, the US might be more evil in some ways than other governments. But as I said above, some countries have some misconceptions about US government and society too. But I do know, what would scare me the most of any world government would be if they said they were perfect and had no secrets. Because if they said that, then I would know they were lying.

Andrew Melon. In the early 60s we would take Sunday drives past Mellon's Huntland Downs estate and look at the rich people tailgating with their Rolls-Royces and servants standing at the ready.
Great monetary policies, unfortunately they led to the Great Depression.
Also famous for forming the South Fork Fishing and Hunting Club along with Henry Clay Frick and other rich entitled profiteers.
The club was noted for mismanagement of the South Fork Dam, even removing it's discharge pipes to be sold for scrap, leading to the Johnson Flood that killed 2,208 people and wiped out the towns of South Fork, Mineral Point, East Conemaugh, and Johnstown. Of course, no one was held responsible.

Reagan, famous for illegally selling arms to Iran after he persuaded Iran to hold their American hostages until after the 1980 presidential election leading to Carter's defeat.
A man who led a presidency in which crime rose 21%, who increased the deficit from $79 billion to $221 billion, ballooned the federal debt from $994 billion to $2.9 trillion, cut funding to schools by $1 billion and threatened to end the Deportment of Education (which Trump will now do), claimed “trees cause more pollution than automobiles do,” ignored the AIDS epidemic, banned unions, wasted $33 billion on Star Wars, oversaw an increase of the poverty rate from 12% to 15% and unemployment from 7% to 11%, raised taxes on the middle class, vetoed the Civil Rights Restoration Act, and abolished the Fairness Doctrine.
After all this he will be seen as an amateur after Trump gets done.

Governments keep secrets? Why would that shock you?
What shocks me is that you think the U.S. might be more evil in some ways than other governments.

Finally Trump is the most dangerous person alive in the U.S. today.
