I am a modern hippie. I always had the environmental and pacifistic philosophy. When i entered community college in 2012, i was frequently asked “are you a hippie?” because of my taste in fashion. I did not know what a hippie is then; although i have heard the word prior, i frequently dismissed it. One day when my mom picks me up from school i ask her. She said “yes”
Welcome to the HipForums! I'm an OLD Hippy...from the '60s. Skip and I created the book Hippies From A to Z, which you can read here at HipPlanet.com. That's where we have a place called Hippyland! Hippyland was the baby that became the HipForums. BTW, I fixed your avatar picture so you are not sideways
My daughter was born on a commune, and was named after the great blue herons that flew overhead while her mother cooled off in the creek. Children raised on a commune see the world very differently, and that is all anyone can ask for. Our world requires new vision. Welcome.
Kevin to Devin, saying hello! Chicago? YEP! I've been there twice. 2009 and 2010. I would love to go again sometime! Millennium Park and The Bean...Sunday, July 25, 2010
Fair enough! I live in Connecticut and have only been to Chicago twice (the other time was February 2009). Been to Boston and NYC way too many times to count. I do appreciate your comments though.
Just over the Massachusetts border is Six Flags New England. It's in the town of Agawam, very close to Springfield. Closer to home, we have the Berlin Fair this coming weekend in central Connecticut. I'm not a fan of the place. My last time there was in 1991 to see an independent wrestling show. To my west, there's Lake Compounce on the Bristol/Southington line and then Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury (via Exit 17 of I-84).
Been there. Stopped there during a mall of america trip. Its not the greatest. I would love to go to Japan and ride that steep one almost shaped like an R. I don’t ride wooden coasters; have a bad experience of getting whiplashed on a Dells coaster.
