i hope you atheists will comply and not post on this thread since its you guys who screwed up everything in the education system and therefore you don't have anything of importance to say in how to correct the system

here's what modern education has become

school districts are removing football, a sport where a young man proved his worth and prepared himself for the military which helps to spread God's word from their school sports program

our schools are proficient in teaching our children how to fuck and its ok to masturbate

condoms are handed out with the pencils and paper

test scores for reading, writing and arithmetic continue to plummet in the core curriculum teaching that man came from apes and God’s name in prayer dare not be spoken

what can be done to right the ship folks?

"CAN MY TEACHER START THE DAY OR A MEETING WITH PRAYER?

No. Prayers, scriptural readings and loudspeaker devotionals violate the First Amendment because they promote religion. This is true even if the prayer is "non-denominational" (not of any particular religion.) Moments of silence might be unconstitutional -- it depends on whether or not the real reason they're being held is to encourage prayer." ACLU

    Indeed.

Compulsive prayer is unconstitutional. The State recognizing religion in this way is unconstitutional.

    In the year 2525
    If man is still alive
    If woman can survive
    They may thrive
    In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, and say
Is in the pill you took today

    In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
    Nobody's gonna look at you

    In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got nothing to do
Some machine is doing that for you

    In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube' Whoooa

    In the year 7510
If God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
Guess it's time for the Judgement day

    In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head then
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down and start again

    In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing

    Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
    For what he never knew
    Now man's reign is through
    But through eternal night
    The twinkling of starlight
    So very far away
    Maybe it's only yesterday

    In the year 2525
    If man is still alive
    If woman can survive
    They may thrive
    In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do or say
Is in the pill you took today ....(fading...)

I don't talk to invisible people, sorry.

I stopped having imaginary friends early in my childhood.

Where I live a lot of our schools the day starts off with a "reading". Sometimes it's a Native American Prayer, sometimes it's just a nice story with a good messge and the end, sometimes it's something from the bible. I think this is a good thing to encourage free thinking. The younger kids don't always "get" what the reading is about, but when I was in school, we often talked about the reading and what it meant to us.
Is this bad/ even though it may include some kind of prayer (Christian or other) ?
I think that banning religion is a crazy idea. I think that banning the pushing of religion on people is a good idea. All differen religions all hold truths in them that we all can apply to owr own lives. For instance, native amerian spirituality talks about reverence of nature and respecting it. There are parts of it that Christians or muslims (and other spiritualities) may not agree with, but the idea of respecting and protecting nature is something that should be suggested.
I think that learning about other spiritualities and religions should be promoted, and religion and spirituality is a large part of people's lives, and shoud be acknowledged and embraced by schools.

Seahorse, you know the answer to that.

    Fizzy,

#1- That would take more time than you can imagine to waste time teaching religion (and religion IS taught in a historical context).

    #2- It is Unconstitutional.

Don't forget that vital intentional miswording (meant to be revealed 'by' the English language) in the bible, "Man is made in God's imagination."
