I'm sure some of you know that Obama had set up a system for people to ask a question of him and his administration relating to things they will make a priority during the beginning and duration of Obama's presidency. People were allowed to click a check or x to reply as to whether they approved of the question. The number one question as of the close of voting was this
Additionally 16 of the top 50 questions pertained to the failed drug policy in the US. Most of those questions were about pot. There is a blog post coming in the next few days from the Obama camp. I'm curious to see how they address these questions.

unfortunately i feel as if the questions will be danced around with already known answers such as "well if we can find medical evidence that proves...." recycled answers we've heard time and time again.. but then again.. ya never know.. Obama i think is gonna be unlike anything we've seen in office since probably JFK..

also i think Obama is gonna be headstrong on the "information age" era.. i mean.. his first public address was posted on YouTube.. i think he's gonna use the internet and blogging quite a bit to reach out to the people since i'd be willing to say 80% of peoples lives revolve somehow around the internet

In one interview, before running for president obama said he supported the decriminalization, but then changed his position when running for whitehouse. Of course, if he held that orgional position while running for president he wouldn't have won because all the ads would ring "Obama supports LEGALIZING MARIJUANA!!!!" and he would lose. so it's entirely possible he'll do something about it, although considering all of the problems he has to face, marijuana probably isn't too "high" on his priorities.

exactly. i for one can handle breaking the (stupid, outdated, and prejudiced) law for awhile longer, i would much rather he fix the pressing problems first.

after actually looking at it, im impressed. what a brilliant idea! i always wanted to actually ask the government real questions, and not get a letter from a damn secretary "heres a generic letter implying that we care, when in reality your letter was immediately incinerated."

gee, i can't wait til next week! can you imagine? after they answer the first questions, we have to come up with more, likie "google the prez" or something. like a personality profile... anyway it'll keep me entertained.

Q: "Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?" S. Man, Denton

A: President-elect Obama is not in favor of the legalization of marijuana.

what a cop out. im so disappointed.
