i heard recently that he was caught using other peoples materail is that true? i ve seen him a few times but honestly jamiee foxx and dave chapelle are my favorite comediens up to this point
He's terrible. Nothing he says is funny at all and he's a blatant racist. Whereas chappelle uses race in a way that makes it funny and true, mencia just outright slanders every race and tries to justify it, but can't because he's retarded. All of his jokes are based on racism and I'm tired of dumbasses latching onto Chappelle's coat tails.
He is funny as hell! My kids and I went to see him live. Wow! What a show! Of course people were looking at me like I was the worse mom in the whole wide world . . .
I use to think he was funny, untill I watched a clip on youtube where it proves he steals his material.... I mean I have a hard time laughing at someone who is standing up, telling jokes that have been told many times by other comedians. I think if he took the time that he takes learning everyone elses jokes, and made his own up, he could possibly be funny, but not by stealing other peoples work.
I absolutley despise Carlos Mencia's trashing of various groups of people and attempting to pass it off as humor. He doesn't even really make jokes, he spreads stereotypes and tries to make them funny Mitch Hedberg is where its at
^^basically my thoughts as well, plus he's a liar and plagiarizer.. it's cool to be inspired by a joke, even to tell a similar one, but to copy them the way he does, and then denying it is really lame.. mitch hedberg is the best. woulda been cool if he was still around... do you know demetri martin?
Racism and joke stealing aside, Carlos Mencia is simply a bad comic. He's just terrible at delivering a joke--that's all. He sucks, and he's annoying, and it's such a shame that he has a television show. And yeah, Mitch Hedberg I can dig! A shame he's gone. I guess my favorites would be David Cross and Jon Benjamin, though.
No, I don't know demitri "last name of dimitri", I don't watch to much stand up comedy. I do like David Cross though, and hes actually a good example of someone who makes jokes involving race/stereotypes that are actually funny
I saw a video of Carlos Mencia's stand up when he was younger. He actually had some funny stuff in there. But the guy steals material and does it blatently. I lost all respect for him right there. You guys should check out Brian Regan if you want to see some quality, clean stand up.
