So I made this mixture...I used too much acid though, way too much, not drinkable at all. So how do I get rid of it? I've tried boiling it off but it doesn't seem to work...help..thanks

There are teks elsewhere for those studying the chemistry of ethnobotanicals, but in a nutshell the procedure is to filter, wash the mixture with organic solvent, basify aqueous phase to pH well beyond the pKb of interest, extract with organic solvent, wash with brine and dH20, dry over drying agent and possibly make salt. To increase purity, options include chromatography and recrystalizations.

Is there any other way to simply remove the excessive acid but save me the work of doing a full extraction, such as adding a base? Or is the full extraction really my only option at this point?
  4. what acid was used?

For the first extraction, about 30-40% lemon juice. For the second extraction (because I was runnin gout of lemon juice) about 10% lemon juice and 500 mg of vitamin C. For the third extraction, I used I think 1500 mg of vitamin C and no lemon juice. I realize this was way too much in retrospect, but at the time I was flustered and in a rush, and I don't have much experience with this kind of thing.
