the ultimate microcosm of the downslide of our social system is the movie industry when gone with the wind was introduced it was the first movie to feature a swear word people rioted boycotted and burned copies of the book now movies are acceptable for children 13 and up if the contain the word fuck no more than one time and even then the amount of cursing is sometimes rediculous

 

for better or worse, society changes. Part of life

 

society should progress as it changes

 

well, when gone with the wind came out, women and blacks were opressed. but now they are on a higher pedastol than white people

 

that in itself shows no progression as a society it shows static movement while we have done much to liberate the opposite sex and other races we have done it at a cost to a seperate race that is by no means progression

exactly now I get to work at a high stress high profile job 50 hours a week and get up for midnight feedings and change diapers and cook dinner and I can get knocked up and it's perfectly acceptable for the guy not to marry me...wohooo for the women's movement

just as you could choose to find some guy who will expect you to stay home and take care of the house/kids
hell, you could probly even choose to be treated as sub-human if you wanted to
