I was wondering are there any fans out there who liked the series (I use to think that Don Johnson was the coolest), and now the movie is coming out, i havent seen it but if anyone has please share your thoughts
I was a fan of the TV series in the 80s, but I'm not convinced that the concept has aged well enough for a successful feature film. That being said, the extended trailers that came out last week make the film look gritty and dark and interesting. And Michael Mann is a great director with very few failures to his credit.
Michael Mann has had failures? Hes probobly the most talented director working today. Expect style over substance from the movie, dont compare it to the source material or youll be let down.
Bobby Ryan, Some of the reviews I've read give the movie a 3 out of 4 stars (which rates the movie quite high) apparently it's hardbitten and gritty and makes for enjoyable entertainment. While the reviews are really good it's the critics I question - we shall see :H Hotwater
THAT MOVIE FALT OUT SUCKEEEEDDDD!!!! I hate that movie! There was hardly any talking and collin farel is not the greatest actor. It was not worth my time or money! This is one of those movies where you don't hold your pee until the end.
Brand New Soul, I thought it was fantastic. It was unpretentious and never candy-coated the violence. Hotwater
I want to see it but have yet to do so. I have liked every Michael Mann film I've seen so I hope I won't be disappointed.
Yeah I got dragged to the movie and it was one of the worst big name movies I have seen. If you are expecting a movie version of the tv show, its nothing like it. I dont like collin farel or jamie fox's acting in the first place and I thought the directing was pretty bad. It seemed michael mann tried to be different and try some new angles but it made the movie unenjoyable for me. Some parts it seemed were filmed on a shaky home video camera, which didn't add to the movie for me. But if you do like mann's directing, I don't know what to say because this was the first movie I've seen that he has directed.
