Mexico/Central America in Jan/Feb 2008

Anyone interested in travelling around for all or part of my trip with me. I am flying into Puerto Vallarta on Jan 10, 2008 and will slowly make my way down into central america. No real route planned out past Mexico City yet. I am 30, male, and plan to hitchhike most of the way.

Hitching through Central America is not the best of ideas.

 

I'm interested in travel partners in January. Starting in Puerto Vallarta could work for me. Would like to holler at some expat family in central Mexico, and then perhaps Guatemala. Hitchhiking out of the question for me. There is a serious drug war going on in Mexico especially. I know the news often doesn't make it up north. But it is no joke. Thus travelling in a group seems like the smartest way to go.

 

Hitchhiking is fine in Mexico and Central America. The risks are blown way out of proportion everywhere. I do however repect anyones decision not to do it, as it is not for everyone. Caspare007, I am more then willing to travel via bus if the right travel partner comes along. I have free accomodation lined up in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Morelia, and Mexico City.
